The International Parking Institute hosted its annual Conference & Expo on May 17-20 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. The IPI said that more than 2,000 attended the event: “Parking in a Changing World – Leading the Way.”
The excitement kicked off during the 16th annual CAPP Classic golf tournament and jam-packed Mile High Mixer, and carried through the inspiring keynote address by Ron Hill, the record number of educational sessions, the attention-grabbing expo all the way to the closing Motown Magic event.
Attendees hailed the 2009 conference as “one of the best ever!”
For example, Lee Eilers, President of TwistHDM, said: “As newcomers to the parking industry, it has been a pleasure working with the International Parking Institute from the very start. The conference in Denver … far exceeded our expectations in every facet.”
During the Opening General Session of the 2009 IPI Conference & Expo, the new officers of the IPI Board of Directors were announced to the membership. Elected Chairman of the Board was Cindy Campbell of Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, Casey Jones from the University of Colorado Boulder was elected Chair-Elect, and Liliana Rambo, CAPP, from the City of Houston was elected Treasurer. Outgoing Chair Douglas Holmes of Penn State University will serve as the Past-Chair.
All of the officers were elected on a platform of continuing IPI’s focus on developing the parking profession and creating additional avenues for members to share and learn from their peers.
