Parkeon, Inc. and POM, Inc. have announced that they have entered into a partnership to provide a mixed parking meter solution to cities, universities, and operators. This solution will meet the needs of organizations searching for a joint solution of multi-space parking meters and single space parking meters.
This partnership brings together two pioneers in the parking industry. POM is the oldest manufacturer of parking meter systems in the world, with its first parking meter having been introduced in 1935. Parkeon was the first company to install multi-space meters in the United States and has the largest installed base of multi-space meters around the globe.
Both Parkeon and POM provide parking meter solutions that are solar powered, wireless and credit card enabled. The companies will be working together to integrate their systems so clients can utilize one back-office system in order to maximize efficiencies.
“We have seen a switch in the marketplace where clients are asking for both multi-space and single space meters as part of the same parking operation,” said Chris Octon, US Parkeon President. “With their long history of providing quality products we believe POM is the right partner for us to provide a good solution to meet this need.”
“We are very excited to partner with Parkeon and create a system that the market is asking for today,” said Terry Henderson, Marketing Manager for POM. “Both organizations bring decades of experience to the table and I am confident that this will be a successful partnership for everyone involved, especially our clients.”
