Don Monahan, P.E., Vice President of Walker Parking Consultants, has been named a National Parking Association Parking Consultants Council (PCC) Fellow. This is the highest honor bestowed on active members of the PCC. Only two other PCC members – Larry Donoghue and Carl Walker – have achieved this distinction. Monahan has 27 years of parking consulting experience and specialized expertise in mechanical parking structures, functional design, signage, lighting, safety, security, waterproofing, parking equipment, fire protection and building code issues. As a member of the International Conference of Building Officials, Monahan has written several sections of International Building Code 2003 related to parking structure design. An active PCC member since 1986, he has co-authored many PCC publications, particularly concerning code issues, lighting, safety, security and automated vehicle storage retrieval systems.
