Having welcomed nearly 8,200 attendees to Birmingham, UK, in mid-April, this year’s co-located Traffex and Parkex, hosted by the British Parking Association (BPA), was considered by many as one of the best exhibitions in its long history.
With three busy days of face-to-face business networking, Europe’s largest traffic management and parking trade shows helped attendees develop contacts and introduced them to numerous innovative products, services and technologies.
Each show provided strong seminar sessions, organized alongside the content partners, with prominent speakers from the BPA, UK Department for Transport, Highways Agency, ITS United Kingdom, and the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation.
Alison Tooze, BPA Events and Membership Manager, said this year’s seminars were really “well-received. The ‘Parkex Power Pitches’ were particularly successful, offering a great opportunity for businesses to pitch to potential clients. Reflecting on our time here, this year’s show [was] extremely productive,” Tooze said. “Parkex improves every year and … exceeded expectations this time around.”
At the event, Peter Plisner, BBC Midlands Business and Transport Correspondent, commented: “Traffex/Parkex is a good barometer of where things are going. … So if you’re in search of new technology launching in the industry, then this is the place to be.”
The next combined Traffex/Parkex event will be April 21-23, 2015, at The NEC Birmingham. Parkex 2014, meanwhile, will take place June 10-11 next year at National Hall, Olympia, Earls Court, London.
