Nedap has launched a new activity — Nedap Mobility Solutions — within its Identification Systems business unit, that’s designed to enable people and vehicles in urban environments to swiftly and safely reach their destinations, the company says.
The portfolio of Nedap Mobility Solutions comprises wireless vehicle detection sensors to assist motorists in quickly finding a parking bay and parking operators in “optimizing the utilization,” it says. Moreover, city access control systems keep pedestrians in shopping zones safe, while ensuring that taxis, police and ambulances can fulfill their tasks.
Over the years, Nedap has contributed to the optimization of traffic flows in hundreds of cities and similar environments, such as university campuses and large airports, the company says.
“There is a growing demand for traffic flow optimization systems,” says Maarten Mijwaart, General Manager of Nedap Identification Systems. “However, this requires a specific set of skills, methodology and vocabulary to successfully implement these in demanding urban environments.
“With the introduction of Mobility Solutions, we bring together all activities related to traffic flow optimization in such environments,” Mijwaart says. “Our portfolio includes our systems for wireless vehicle detection (SENSIT) and for city access control.”
