Ace Parking Holds Annual ‘Park for Pink’ campaign
Ace Parking has conducted the fourth consecutive year of its Park for Pink campaign to raise awareness and generate funds to aid in the fight against cancer. During October, the San Diego-based company raised donations, as well as donated a portion of its proceeds to reach the goal of a $15,000 gift to Susan G. Komen San Diego (http://komensandiego.org/).
Ace Parking again temporarily changed many of its well-recognized parking lot signs to pink-colored Park for Pink signage with a custom logo. Team members wore pink wristbands celebrating the company’s pledge. Additionally, the official Ace Parking website (https://www.aceparking.com/) had a custom design to support the cause.
Over the previous three years, the program has generated more than $250,000, which was donated directly to organizations such as the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research; the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to cure blood cancers; the American Cancer Society to help patients and their families; directly to oncology departments within hospitals; to the purchase of the Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system; and to other worthy organizations in their quest to find a cure and treat those who are challenged with the disease.
“Park for Pink was inspired by my own family’s fight against cancer, as well as the struggle of many others in our Ace Parking family,” said Keith B. Jones, third-generation Owner & Managing Partner of Ace Parking. “Because so many are … impacted by cancer, I am privileged to utilize Ace Parking as a platform to support those who are suffering, those who treat and support cancer patients, and those who are working to find the cures.”

Cintas Honor Recognizes Laz Parking’s Anderson Payne
Anderson Payne, a four-year Laz Parking employee and student at the Ohio State University in Columbus, was among 10 people recognized earlier this year by the Cintas Corp.’s Everyday Impact program – Heroes in the Workplace — which “celebrates individuals who make a real impact in the workplace and beyond.”
Late last year, an OSU student injured 13 people when he rammed his car into pedestrians on campus and went on a stabbing spree. Payne was one of those hurt that day. He had been trying to help the injured, but his hand was cut by the attacker in the process, damaging his tendons and nerves.
“By demonstrating amazing bravery, strength, courage and solidarity, Anderson truly exemplified heroism and The LAZ Way on that tragic day,” the company said.
Payne had emergency surgery, but is expected to regain complete use of his hand after undergoing extensive physical therapy and rehabilitation. He said he “refuses to let that day change who he is and won’t let it alter his daily life.”
A Laz Parking Assistant Manager in Customer Service at OSU, Payne is highly regarded by his coworkers and fellow students. An “incredible employee and student,” the company said, he’s also “a loving husband, a dedicated father to three kids, and a veteran who served his country in the U.S. Army for six years, including doing two tours in Iraq.”
Cintas says it leads the industry in supplying corporate identity uniform programs; and in providing restroom supplies; first aid, safety and fire protection products and services; and industrial carpet and tile cleaning. It operates more than 400 facilities in North America, including six manufacturing plants and eight distribution centers.
