Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG announced the appointments of two top-level executives of Mercedes-Benz HPC North America, LLC: Andrew Cornelia as President and Chief Executive Officer, and Christopher Trainor as Chief Financial Officer, both effective in June 2023. In their new roles, Andrew and Christopher will be responsible for the launch and operations of the Mercedes-Benz charging network in the U.S. and Canada.

LAZ Parking has contracted with Princeton Real Estate Partners to manage 610 West 45th Street, a short and long-term parking facility off the West Side Highway that serves the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum in New York City. The contract is the latest addition to LAZ Parking’s expanding portfolio in Midtown Manhattan. LAZ Parking has contracted with Madison Realty Capital to manage parking services at Woodside Central, a new development of two high-rise, mixed-use towers in Woodside, Queens. The location is the third parking services contract awarded to LAZ by Madison Realty Capital and the latest addition to LAZ’s expanding portfolio of properties in Greater New York City at LAZ provided parking services. The buildings have a combined total of 478 rental apartment units.

Verra Mobility Corporation has released a new report, “The State of EVs, 2023 Report on Smart Mobility” on consumer perceptions of electric vehicles. Verra Mobility polled 2,000 Americans aged 25 and older on their perspective around renting an EV, and views around safety, convenience, and the decision to purchase one in 2023. The survey had many surprising findings including that 78 percent of Americans would consider renting an EV as a way to ‘test drive’ the technology before buying.

BendPak, Inc., has purchased a new global headquarters in Agoura Hills, Calif. The 22,256-square-foot administrative building, built in 2012 for the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, is situated on 12 acres in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, just west of Los Angeles. BendPak expects to move from its current Santa Paula, Calif., offices by the end of the summer.

Israeli mobility company Pumba Parking has developed a system using physical sensors and a mobile app to help stressed-out drivers in Tel Aviv locate some of the most precious real estate in the city: an available parking spot. The company offers residents in the city an opportunity to install a device on the side of their building that takes photos of the street every 10 seconds, notifying its network of drivers if and when a space becomes available.
Parkopedia helps drivers find and pay for parking, EV charging, fuel and tolls across 90 countries. Drivers worldwide are demanding greater in-car parking and charging functionality, according to the 2023 Global Driver Survey, completed in May 2023 by Borderless Access. The survey collated the responses of 5454 motorists worldwide, including 2225 EV owners, and found that the majority of drivers regularly struggle to locate parking and EV charging locations. ParkMobile is expanding in Omaha, Nebraska, as the city broadens its mobile parking payment options. In early June, the ParkMobile app will be available for on-demand parking in almost 10,000 on- and off-street spaces throughout Omaha. ParkMobile is partnering with the National Western Complex in Denver to offer event parking reservations through its mobile app and website. “As ParkMobile continues to expand its footprint, we are thrilled to partner with National Western Complex to provide our digital payment services for its events year-round,” said David Hoyt, ParkMobile’s managing director. ParkMobile announced that the Atlanta-based company has reached the 50 million user milestone as it continues to expand across North America. The new Sixth Street Viaduct Project in Los Angeles won the 2023 “Grand Conceptor” Award signifying the year’s most outstanding engineering achievement. City of Columbia Parking Services officials announced the 2023 amnesty program. Administrators said the City of Columbia citizens will have the opportunity to have all late fees forgiven that are 30 days up to 3 years old. According to officials, the program only applies to parking tickets and not traffic citations. The program ran from July 01, 2023, through July 31, 2023.
