TKH Security (formerly Park Assist) began installation for a previously awarded Automated Parking Guidance System (APGS) contract with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for the parking facilities at the new $1.5 billion Arthur M. Blank Hospital. Announced in June 2023, U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals 2023-2024 list ranked CHOA among the nation’s top pediatric hospitals for the 20th year. Slated to open in 2024, CHOA’s Arthur M. Blank Hospital will be a 446-bed children’s hospital in Brookhaven, Georgia.
As if finding parking around metro Atlanta wasn’t hard enough, officials with the Better Business Bureau have warned consumers to watch out for fake QR codes some metro Atlanta residents said they’ve spotted in parking garages around the city. Videos posted to social media show people spotting fake codes placed over real ones. BBB spokesperson Simone Williams said it’s all in an effort to try to steal people’s personal information.
EVCS has announced the commencement of construction for 165 EV chargers at 23 LA Fitness clubs and 1 Esporta Fitness club in California, Oregon, and Washington. The purchase order is for rugged mobile computers used in automation of processes, digital monitoring, control and efficiencies through the supply chain level. These devices provide a more “contactless” approach to the customer’s retail and logistics operations.
ParkMobile, a provider of smart parking and mobility solutions in North America and part of EasyPark Group, has partnered with the Borough of Sewickley to modernize its parking payment system. Now, residents and visitors can use ParkMobile’s digital payment solution to pay for parking at 443 on-street and off-street parking spaces throughout the city. ParkMobile is now offering its digital parking services for 1,300 on-street and off-street parking spaces in the City of Hackensack.
New smart parking meters have gone up on Honolulu’s sidewalks — with the first 300 already installed in the Chinatown area. The city budgeted $4 million to replace all 4,200 of its street parking meters with upgraded ones that have sensors. They blink red when the time has expired or if the meter hasn’t been paid. “These are credit card-enabled meters,” said Chris Clark, chief planner with the city’s Department of Transportation Services. The new meters are connected to IPS Group’s Park Smarter app.
Concord Parking has installed four new Tango Pay Stations at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital and The Miller Centre in Newfoundland and Labrador. The move comes after Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services came to Concord looking for a way to deter unauthorized parkers from taking up the limited number of spots available for hospital patients and guests. NLHS wanted a cost-effective, user-friendly, and non-gated solution for its lots.
Securing a parking spot can be a stressful experience Penn State students face, with expensive and limited parking downtown and on campus. According to an application called BuyMySpot, the stress can be avoided. The company is based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and describes itself as a “peer-to-peer marketplace for parking solutions.”
