Amano-McGann and Metric

Metric has turned over its western hemisphere marketing arm to Amano McGann. To wit

Amano, the leading provider of off-street parking automation in the United States, announces a partnership with Metric, the United Kingdom’s leading on-street, multi-space parking meter provider.  Under the new agreement Amano is now Metric’s exclusive sales and distribution channel for North, South and Central America.

This new, strategic alliance provides a combined solution that enables parking operators to manage their on- and off-street parking from a single location, and have the entire solution supported by the largest and most geographically diverse service organization in the industry.

“Our exclusive partnership with Metric Parking enables us to offer our customers a flexible, multi-space meter solution that seamlessly integrates with our iParcProfessional Revenue System,” explained Joe Survance, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Amano McGann. “This solution benefits both parking patrons and operators alike, in both private and municipal markets.”

I spoke to a very excited Dave Witts, US President for Metric, today and he told me that he felt this program would greatly increase Metric’s penetration in this market. “We have three sales people, Amano has 60,” he said. “They have a dealer and service network across the country which will enable us to support small installations. It makes no sense to open an office in a market where we have installed 40 machines, however an existing Amano office or dealer can handle the maintenance and service responsibilities.”

Dave told me that they were integrating the two companies back office software so customers could have both on and off street applications running and reporting on the same system. He noted that the Metric Booth at the IPI will have some of the newly branded P and D equipment, Amano-Mcgann, powered by Metric.

Is there more ‘partnerships’ in the wind? I see that Scheidt and Bachmann and Cale are hosting a joint party in Phoenix.

We shall see.
