Edward F. Piloto, L & R GM, Dies

Edward Francisco Piloto, known for his high-energy approach to parking, died June 15 in Orlando, FL, his hometown. He worked as a parking professional in the Greater Central Florida market for most of his entire professional life. He was 41.
Mr. Piloto attended Stetson University on a soccer scholarship and eventually finished his studies at Rollins College, both in Florida. He spent 12 years working for Central Parking System, where he became a Project Manager at the SunTrust Center, the largest office complex in downtown Orlando.
He quickly rose through the ranks, working as an Area Manager in Miami, then as a General Manager in Cleveland and Orlando. He was GM of the Central Parking Orlando office from 2005-2010.
Mr. Piloto was then promoted to General Manager, North Florida, overseeing Orlando, Jacksonville and Daytona operations from 2009-2011.  During his tenure, he oversaw one of the company’s most successful projects, The Pointe Orlando retail center, with its 2,600-space parking deck.
Most recently he was hired by L&R Group as General Manager of its newest WallyPark location – a 1,700-space Park and Ride just outside Orlando International Airport due to open this fall.
