He worked for nearly 10 years with the Independence Bowl Foundation as Director of Ticketing and Business Ops, including: managing ticket sales and operations and securing sponsorships and advertising.
R.M. Lucas Co., which offers a full line of coatings and mastics for the professional building contractor, has acquired new headquarters, research and development center, and manufacturing plant. The facility, at 12400 S. Laramie Ave. in Alsip, IL., has 12,000 square feet of offices, 5,000 square feet of laboratory and R&D space, and 75,000 square feet of production and warehouse area. Production is scheduled to start in late 2015. Its Chicago Plant will continue operations with expanded capacity for asphalt products. The Bedford Park (IL.) Plant will close at year’s end.
Code Blue Corp., a leading manufacturer of emergency communication solutions, has promoted David Salas to Chief Financial Officer and David Fleming to Chief Design Officer. Salas, who joined the company in 2013 as Corporate Controller, will be handling financial duties and managing activities related to the development of new business opportunities. Fleming, who joined Code Blue in 2012, will be responsible for growing its brand through marketing, public relations, product development and research.
ADVAM has expanded its UK operations. The leading provider of payment solutions within the parking and transportation, local government, and airport sectors, has relocated its Manchester office into a cutting-edge 5,625-square-foot premises at 15 Jutland St., Piccadilly, in the city’s Northern Quarter, on a five year lease. In other news, ADVAM and its Inventive IT unit have announced that their PreBook system is now operational at Alesund Airport, Norway. The airport is part of The Avinor Group, which is responsible for 46 state-owned airports and is piloting three reservation systems at three of its airports as part of a wider Ecommerce strategic evaluation.
Humber River Hospital in Toronto selected, in late August, Park Assist to install its M4 parking guidance system (PGS), which is designed to enable parkers to find parking spaces effortlessly and without stress. What it calls “the most advanced PGS in the industry” uses a camera-based sensor system to guide drivers to open parking spaces, as well as to help them find their vehicles on leaving the hospital. Completion is projected for this month.
MobileNOW!, a global technology innovator and the world’s first mobile payment solution for parking, and Kelley & Ryan Associates, an East Coast-based municipal administrative services provider, have integrated to streamline parking enforcement in Easton, PA. President and CEO John Oglesby said, “This integration will reduce human error and increase enforcement efficiency in [the city’s] single-space on- and off-street locations.” In other news, the company is launching mobile payment in College Park, MD., starting with two major surface lots and a large garage.
The Student Education Judging Committee of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) recently selected the winners of the 2015 Engineering Student Design Competition (the “Big Beam Contest”). PCI’s Student Education Committee (Sergio Breña, Chair) organized the contest, sponsored by the Sika Corp., and assigned the judging committee (Richard Miller, Chair). The objective is for teams of students to fabricate and test a precast/prestressed concrete beam with the help of local PCI Producer Members. Prizes are awarded to the top 20 student design teams in consideration of efficient design, highest load capacity, and other categories. The first-place team was from the University of Notre Dame (Faculty Advisor Yahya Kurama and PCI Producer StresCore Inc.)
