Parking, Business and Economic Leaders Headline NPA Convention and Expo 2013
June, 2013
The 62nd annual National Parking Association (NPA) Convention & Expo, Oct. 7-10 in Chicago, will focus on peak performance, parking best practices and cutting-edge technology. Its theme is “Leading Teams, Technology & Real-Time Results.”
Wim Elfrink, Cisco Executive Vice President, Industry Solutions, and Chief Globalisation Officer, will deliver the keynote address. Elfrink will speak on “The Internet of Things: Parking, the Next Killer App,” at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 8.
“The parking industry is changing rapidly. Big data, technology infrastructure and ‘smart’ transportation, along with Internet marketing, and mobile pay and marketing, are changing how parking does business,” said NPA President Christine Banning, CAE, in announcing Wilfrink’s selection. “Our keynote will cover the new trends ... and what they mean to the parking industry.”
Also on Oct. 8, William T. Krouch, President of Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, will present “2014 Economic Forecast: Real Estate, Financing and Mixed-Use Development.” Key takeaways from his General Sessions talk include a commercial development and construction outlook; understanding the future of financing and commercial development; and how mixed-use trends affect you and
your business.
The NPA Convention & Expo 2013 also features six tracks of targeted education: peak performance, finance, management and operations, technology, university, and Certified Parking Professional (CPP) certification.
Industry experts and “thought leaders” will present insights, expertise and a perspective on parking in 2014 and beyond. NPA’s peer networks and roundtable discussions provide private and public sector professionals with access to experts and best practices worldwide.
“NPA’s convention is focused on the future, strategic opportunity, best practices and performance results,” Banning said. “The NPA is the fastest-growing trade association in North America,” she added, “with double digit growth, groundbreaking parking research, best practices and business processes.
Other events taking place during the four-day event, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, include the 2013 National Valet Olympics, CPP Day and NPA’s biggest-ever Expo. For more information on the 2013 NPA convention, go to www.npaconvention.org/2013.
