IPI on the Radio

Sandra reports that during this AM’s drive time in LA, KABC 790 radio’s host Peter Tilden commented on the IPI’s conference seminar on “First Observer” training for parking attendants. It was a positive report with the host discussing folks in parking garages being able to report on suspicious vehicles. It goes without saying that training in this is important, however certainly it’s a good idea. Is this part of the IPI’s “parking matters” PR program, and if so, way to go. The more positive articles we get out there, the better.

Great to connect with you in Las Vegas — and yes the First Observer parking-specific training which IPI helped shape and which debuted at the IPI Conference is getting picked up online, in newspapers and radio — and even some TV — from coast to coast. Very exciting! The training was covered by a Las Vegas based AP reporter we invited to the training as part of IPI’s Parking Matters industry-wide program for advancing the parking professional (yes, shameless promotion here!). The AP reporter interviewed the First Observer team and IPI Exec Director Shawn Conrad following the training and then walked the entire exhibit hall floor with IPI Chair Cindy Campbell. Another reporter from a Las Vegas paper also filed a story — and enjoyed the conference so much she came back to attend the Parking Wars presentation during Wednesday’s general session. Here’s a link to Adrienne Packer’s wonderful column: http://www.lvrj.com/news/-parking-wars–drivers-deserve-to-get-booted-93877589.html. Thank you for your support — we’re all partners in this effort to create awareness –and appreciation — for the value of parking professionals.
