I have never heard of the Bikini Clad Meter Maids who roam the Australian “gold Coast” and put quarters in the meters to keep visitors from getting tickets. But according to this article, they have been around since 1968 when meters were first installed. However they are falling on hard times, with fees going up and and a few scandals (nude center spreads in the local press) they are under attack.
