Pacific Intermountain Parking & Transportation Association

The Northwest Parking Association (NWPA) is changing its name!  The new name is “Pacific Intermountain Parking and Transportation Association” or “PIPTA.”  The name change was approved by the NWPA Board in December.  Members were invited to provide input on the proposed name change prior to the Board vote.  The new name more accurately describes the geographic representation of the group and also the direction and scope of the industry with regards to parking as part of the larger transportation system.  Henceforth, NWPA will be referred to as PIPTA.

  1. Should read the whole entry like it says at the front. Regarding the 95% figure, your wife may be typical, doesn’t mean that she is average. For example your wife plus Donald Shoup divided by two! Here in the UK the figure of 95% is pretty robust, maybe it’s different in the states (bigger country, more car per capita less public transport) It should be easy to work out average distance travelled divided by average road speed gives time travelled. divide by 365 gives hours per day. divide by 24 times 100 gives percentage time moving and hence time parked.
