I know most of you won’t know him, but and old friend of mine and the parking industry in Australia has passed away. Malcolm Greenop, the secretary of the association and editor of the group’s magazine died last week of a heart attack. He was in his mid 50s.

Malcolm has been a friend and correspondent of mine since I visited the Australian Parking Association annual meeting in Sydney just after PT was founded. Ironcially, this year the APA’s meeting will be held in Hobart, Tasmania, Malcolm’s home town.

He will be missed

  1. November 12th 2006 and we still miss Mal.
Such a dreadful loss of such a bright and shining light.
What an impact in publishing, in parking , in the ‘backwater’ of Tassie music, and also in friendship to my husband and myself.
He will not, is not, forgotten. Our tears prove that.
If you need a coffee on Mals couch it is going to be restored and given pride of place in Tasmanias’ first purpose built recording studio. This is our dream that Mal helped flesh out and give bones to. Without him, we would have let the dream slip away like so many others. One day we will meet again, in the mean time our dream is breathing on its own, and the couch has pride of place along with the coffee table. If you turn to look you will see the memorial plaque and photos of Him to let everyone know, famous or not, that a light shines in our hearts and it was nurtured by Malcolm Greenop. xxx
