Sanity in Niagara Falls

Sanity in Niagara Falls

There is sanity breaking out in Niagara Falls, NY.  The city planning commission is actually rewriting the parking requirement out of their planning docs. Read about it here.

There’s a catch, however – they are keeping the requirement for 1.5 spaces per room for hotels and motels. Now lets see — what is the situation where a hotel is going to have more drivers than rooms? Since some people come by plane or train or bus, imagine a situation where you would need more than what, 75%, ok 90% in Buffalo but 150%. Give me a break.

Ahead two, back one.

  1. Well… I bet they have lots of bus tours. And what about conventions that draw in crowds of people who aren’t neccessarily staying at the hotel? But I see what you mean, 150% seems high.
