Skidata picked to Replace D/FW ‘s parking system

According to the Dallas Morning News, Skidata has been given the preliminary nod as the new contractor to provide the new revenue control system at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. The Airport’s board of directors picked Skidata over the current supplier, Affiliated Computer Services who had had the contract for the past two decades.

The entire contract when issued will cost nearly $50 million and take several years to complete as it not only includes replacement of the system hardware and software but also replacement of the north and south toll plazas.

According to the “News” Skidata won in part because it could to the job faster and was more nimble.

There are still some bureaucratic hurdles for Skidata as ACS has filed a complaint, plus the airport’s contracting department must complete its work before an order to proceed can be issues.
