I am rather overwhelmed by the technology we are using. We sent out a mailer this week and already nearly 50 people have downloaded our PIE application and signed up to get a free trip to PIE. I’m told by people who know, based on the size of our industry, that that is a big number. It works like this:
Win a free trip to PIE 2012. Download the APP and enter the drawing. Conference, Hotel, Flight and Food all included.
The app is compatible with iPhones, iPads, iPod Touches and Android devices. Plus if you scan the QR code below, you can use your Blackberry. Get the QR scanner app from your Smart Phone’s App store (its free) and you are off to the races.
What this does is it gives you a complete up to date schedule of PIE events and other information. If you download the app (iPhone, iPads, and Android) we will ‘push’ data to your device and tell you what’s coming up moment by moment at PIE, while you are at the exhibition. If you use a Blackberry, just bookmark the Guidebook web site and get up to date info every time you check it.
To get the guide, choose one of the methods below:
- Download ‘Guidebook‘ from the Apple App Store or the Android Marketplace
- Visit http://guidebook.com/getit from your phone’s browser
- Scan the following image with your mobile phone (QR-Code reader required, e.g. ‘Red Laser’, ‘Barcode Scanner’)
The PIE guide will be listed under the “download guides” section of the application (iPhone and Android). For Blackberry — just go to “future” and find PIE — In both cases, there is a “Free Trip to PIE” button where you can sign up.
All you have to do is download the app and go to the “Free Trip to PIE” section, fill it out, and you will be entered into a drawing to win.
Don’t worry if you have already signed up to attend or paid, you can still enter and if you win, PIE 2012 will refund your money. Even if you do not win, PIE is still the best value for the money.
Hey – its fun just to fight your way through all this and if you don’t know now, you can quickly learn how to be a part of the QR Code world. If I can do it, anyone can.

Hi, A lot of us have Blackberrys…we can’t down load this… just an FYI
Scott-0- you are the person we have been looking for. You click and go, but missed the part where I said that with Blackberrys it is different. Yes, with the famous Canadian smart phone you just click and go to the web site and have to do the same every time. No app, but you can get all the info just by clicking.
Good hunting.
