The Los Angeles Auto Show opened registration for AutoMobility LA, its annual preview day for both media and industry professionals. Scheduled for November 16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the LA Auto Show’s press and B2B gathering is an opportunity for the global community and key decision makers to convene in Southern California for the latest debuts, product announcements, networking opportunities and more.

 

Zeem Solutions, an electric vehicle transportation as a service company, announced a partnership with Hertz to provide fast charging and other services for the rental company’s fleet of EVs at Los Angeles International Airport. “Supplying charging for Hertz’s fleet of electric vehicles at LAX, one of the busiest airports in the world, is a testament to our operational excellence and industry-leading electric vehicle fleet solutions,” said Paul Gioupis, Co-Founder and CEO of Zeem.

 

Phoenix Parking Solutions, an Atlanta-based parking management company that offers services to property owners throughout the country, partnered with Oobeo and EnforcePlus to develop several new features that make these cloud-based parking management applications even more convenient for operators.

 

Beam Global announced that the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks placed a third order for solar-powered EV ARC charging systems, their largest order thus far. The off-grid systems will be used to fuel the City’s growing fleet of electric vehicles. The systems were purchased through a
California Department of General Services contract.

 

The City of Tampa has added PayByPhone to service its parking operations. Believ, a UK Electric Vehicle charge point operator, appointed Guy Bartlett as its new CEO. Guy has a first-class track record in the energy sector. He joins from infrastructure and solutions provider SMS-plc, where he led the Energy Services division, focusing on developing strategy, new markets, technology and services.

 

Mobile Smart City continues to expand with the City of Greenville, NC, now providing additional Hectronic Citeas for quick and easy payment for parking at the parking pay stations. These new pay by plate, Citea Pay Stations, will accept credit cards and coins. Mobile Smart City will be providing Hectronic Citeas to Harry Reid International Airport Rent a Car Center in Las Vegas, NV. “We are very excited to be associated with such a huge professional operation and look forward to exceeding expectations for our meter users and the management team here at the Airport” John J. Incandela, President, and CEO at Mobile Smart City stated.

 

Parking fees are a significant part of many modern municipalities’ budgets, especially ones that operate entire parking lots on public property. The catch is that they often have to pay people to enforce the parking fees. That’s now changing thanks to an innovative new solution from WiseSight Technologies, which has leveraged the powerful Hailo-8 AI processor into a smart surveillance system that collects and processes video from multiple cameras with automated vehicle tracking and billing by mail.

 

iPark reported an impressive 64,000 downloads of the iPark mobile application since its release last year. The iPark app has successfully modernized parking in New York City, providing users with convenient access to secure parking facilities across over 100 locations. Drivers parking on City of Perth streets can now pay for their bay using the EasyPark App. This marks the second stage of the City’s rollout of the EasyPark App. Visitors, workers and residents can now pay for their parking with the phone app in more than 9,000 City of Perth car bays.

 

Blink Charging Co. announced it has been selected as an EV charging solutions provider for the Metropolitan Government of Nashville‐Davidson County (Metro) in Tennessee. The exciting new agreement empowers local agencies to acquire Blink’s EV charging equipment for locations across the county, with the chargers being supplied by Blink and owned by Metro. Blink Charging Co. also announced the installation of eight new EV charging stations at the Columbia Center Tower in Seattle, Washington, the tallest office tower in the state, to bring additional convenient and reliable EV charging to tenants and visitors.

 

Ford named Apple veteran Peter Stern to oversee its connected car efforts. Stern will be responsible for expanding the business tied to BlueCruise, Ford’s hands-free highway driving system, as well as productivity and safety/security services, including those from the Ford Pro Intelligence business. 

 

Modii, a provider of modern mobility solutions, announced the rollout of their digital parking platform. Funded through a $500,000 grant between the North Central Texas Council of Governments and the University of Texas at Arlington, the web app gives users real-time knowledge of available parking spaces, electric vehicle charging locations and garage/lot percentage occupancy.

 

ABM entered into a three-year agreement to manage parking operations for Oracle Park in San Francisco, California. ABM will be managing three separate parking facilities at the home to Major League Baseball’s San Francisco Giants.

 

Construction Specialties introduced a new undermount model to its FB-17 series of expansion joint fire barriers. This line of products effectively minimizes smoke passage while accommodating dynamic movement, without degradation of the material. The FB-17UM system installs from below the joint instead of from above, as is the normal installation for expansion joints.

 

Carbon Day EV Charging, a Premier Plus Channel Partner of ChargePoint, announced their contract with the state of Maine, encompassing all state facilities, has been extended to the entire ChargePoint Portfolio. Georgia State University has partnered with ParkMobile, a provider of smart parking and mobility solutions in North America and part of EasyPark Group, to offer guests to Center Parc Stadium, home to the Georgia State football team, the option to reserve and guarantee parking ahead of time. 

 

EMX INDUSTRIES, Inc. a Cleveland, Ohio based access control and industrial automation sensor company has acquired Transponder and Reader Engineered Systems, Inc., a USA designer and manufacturer of RFID readers and tags for the access control market. TRES founders, Steve Hale and Rick Langevin, decided to sell TRES so they can transition to their well-deserved retirement. Mark Phillips, TRES Vice President of Sales, will join the EMX Industries sales team and continue to support the RFID business.

 

Parkopedia and JustPark, confirmed a partnership which will provide motorists across the UK with an easier and more complete way to find, book and pay for parking. Parkopedia’s platform, which enables connected car drivers to search for convenient local parking, now hosts JustPark’s available parking locations, enabling drivers to book and pay for on-street and off-street parking through their vehicles.

Delta Scientific, a manufacturer of counter-terrorist vehicle control systems used globally, announced their DSC550 shallow foundation open frame barrier has been successfully listed on the new DOD Anti-Ram Vehicle Barrier list with interpolation between 10’ and 16’.  In order to achieve this designation, Delta had to successfully test both lengths at the same crash rating.

Mercedes-Benz is set to join the likes of Tesla and Nio by offering its own charging network for electric vehicles. Mercedes’ network, known as the Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging Network, was first announced in January, and by the end of fall will have its first stations on three continents. They will be in Atlanta, GeorgiaChengdu, China, and Mannheim, Germany.

 

OMNIQ Corp., a provider of Artificial Intelligence-based solutions, announced that it has partnered with TripShot, a transportation demand management solution company to provide a unique frictionless parking solution for a major U.S. technology company.

 

SP+® Corporation announced its five-year contract for management of all public and employee parking facilities, and public and employee shuttle service at Eppley Airport, in Omaha, Nebraska. OMA is the largest airport in Nebraska, with a mission to provide premier customer service and airport facilities through operational excellence.

 

ParkMobile, the provider of smart parking and mobility solutions in North America and part of EasyPark Group, is partnering with the University of Arizona to integrate ParkMobile reservations at 13,311 off-street parking spots on-campus. Students and visitors of the university will now be able to reserve and guarantee a parking spot for athletic and other special events via the ParkMobile app or web browser.
