IPI Skies to “Mile High’ City

The International Parking Institute (IPI) launches its annual conference and exposition May 17 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. The theme for the largest parking-only event in North America is:
“Parking in a Changing World: Leading the Way.”
According to the IPI, this year’s event features four full days of intense technical and educational programming, in addition to the more than 200 exhibiting companies available on the trade show floor. By attending this conference, IPI says, you’ll have the opportunity to develop relationships with some of the industry’s most influential professionals.
Attendees come to learn, grow and take care of business.
They also will have the option of playing in the IPI’s golf tournament and enjoying great food and music at its closing gala, Motown Magic.
The IPI Conference & Expo features an educational component that addresses the diverse needs of the attendees’ experience levels. It incorporate “ShopTalks,” as well as “PowerPitch Hours” that allow vendors to participate and educate attendees from a vendor’s standpoint and gain insights into the needs of their customer base. Attendees are strongly encouraged to network on all levels between attendee and vendor with educational offerings, as well as at social functions.
People who attend the IPI’s annual conference and exposition are key decision-makers: executive directors, CEOs, senior managers, commissioners, planners, engineers and consultants who purchase products and services for their organizations. Exhibitors hope to share their industry knowledge and expertise by seizing the year’s best opportunity to show off their business to influential groups.
This year, the conference features 70-plus technical and educational sessions – an 80% increase over any previous year. The format provides sessions for all levels of expertise, from novice to intermediate to veteran.
Each morning, the conference will host a keynote speaker focusing on current topics affecting the parking industry. Attendee networking is encouraged in both formal and informal settings.
The IPI Awards of Excellence presentation recognizes and commends trends in parking facility design and innovation in parking programs and operations. This year’s award winners will be honored with a video presentation.
Also, those individuals who have successfully completed and obtained their CAPP designation will be recognized at the closing luncheon. The Certified Administrator of Public Parking program is a rigorous course of study designed to certify parking and transportation professionals in their fields while enhancing the professionalism of the industry.
