Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG announced the appointments of two top-level executives of Mercedes-Benz HPC North America, LLC: Andrew Cornelia as President and Chief Executive Officer, and Christopher Trainor as Chief Financial Officer, both effective in June 2023. In their new roles, Andrew and Christopher will be responsible for the launch and operations of the Mercedes-Benz charging network in the U.S. and Canada. 

Parking Guidance Systems, LLC, celebrated its 10-year anniversary in May 2023. PGS has gained a reputation for its efficient design, installation, and support services. “When we opened our doors ten years ago, we understood the only way to succeed in this business was to only represent the best parking guidance technology and to always make good on our promise of supporting our customers after the sale,” said Chandrea Frantz, President and Chief Marketing Officer at PGS.

Metric Group has unveiled a software as a service (SaaS) solution which helps, local authorities, NHS trusts, universities and car park operators to seamlessly manage every aspect of their parking operations while being intuitive and hassle-free for customers. The intelligent parking company, which works with 80 percent of UK local authorities and has a legacy of over 40 years in the sector, has launched Metric Connect, a suite of tools it describes as a ‘one-stop-shop, providing all parking needs in one place.’

LAZ Parking has contracted with Princeton Real Estate Partners to manage 610 West 45th Street, a short and long-term parking facility off the West Side Highway that serves the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum in New York City. The contract is the latest addition to LAZ Parking’s expanding portfolio in Midtown Manhattan. LAZ Parking has contracted with Madison Realty Capital to manage parking services at Woodside Central, a new development of two high-rise, mixed-use towers in Woodside, Queens. The location is the third parking services contract awarded to LAZ by Madison Realty Capital and the latest addition to LAZ’s expanding portfolio of properties in Greater New York City at LAZ provided parking services. The buildings have a combined total of 478 rental apartment units.

Verra Mobility Corporation has released a new report, “The State of EVs, 2023 Report on Smart Mobility” on consumer perceptions of electric vehicles. Verra Mobility polled 2,000 Americans aged 25 and older on their perspective around renting an EV, and views around safety, convenience, and the decision to purchase one in 2023. The survey had many surprising findings including that 78 percent of Americans would consider renting an EV as a way to ‘test drive’ the technology before buying.

Professional Parking Technologies LLC announced a partnership with UbiPark, becoming UbiPark’s sales, installation, and servicing representative across the United States. Based in Melbourne, Australia, UbiPark has revolutionized parking in Australia with the introduction of its proprietary technology.

BendPak, Inc., has purchased a new global headquarters in Agoura Hills, Calif. The 22,256-square-foot administrative building, built in 2012 for the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, is situated on 12 acres in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, just west of Los Angeles. BendPak expects to move from its current Santa Paula, Calif., offices by the end of the summer.

J.J. MacKay Canada Limited announced that James MacKay has been named President as George MacKay enters retirement. James MacKay previously held the position of Vice President Sales. “Together, we have worked hand in hand the past 15 years to evolve the company and the product offerings that we have today. I am very proud of the commitment and tenacity that James has shown over the years in growing and promoting MacKay,” said George MacKay.

Israeli mobility company Pumba Parking has developed a system using physical sensors and a mobile app to help stressed-out drivers in Tel Aviv locate some of the most precious real estate in the city: an available parking spot. The company offers residents in the city an opportunity to install a device on the side of their building that takes photos of the street every 10 seconds, notifying its network of drivers if and when a space becomes available.

Parkopedia helps drivers find and pay for parking, EV charging, fuel and tolls across 90 countries. Drivers worldwide are demanding greater in-car parking and charging functionality, according to the 2023 Global Driver Survey, completed in May 2023 by Borderless Access. The survey collated the responses of 5454 motorists worldwide, including 2225 EV owners, and found that the majority of drivers regularly struggle to locate parking and EV charging locations. Parkopedia and Valtech Mobility have partnered to provide vehicle-centric digital services to drivers. This agreement sees Parkopedia and Valtech Mobility – a joint venture of the Volkswagen group and the digital agency Valtech – work together to best support drivers. Parkopedia has partnered with Plugsurfing to integrate Plugsurfing’s most comprehensive solution, Drive API, into Parkopedia’s in-car Payment Platform.

ABM announced a five-year partnership with one of the nation’s busiest airports, Orlando International Airport. This partnership serves as an extension of ABM’s twenty-year collaboration with MCO and will include providing parking and valet services at all three airport terminals, including the recently opened Terminal C. ABM announced a multi-year extension of its long-standing relationship with Tampa International Airport. Through this extended partnership, ABM will continue its decade-long support of TPA’s employee shuttle service. ABM has announced the debut of its first-ever branded electric vehicle products, including ABM EV Charging Stations and ABM EV OS, a cloud-based operating platform for EV chargers. Through the introduction of EV hardware, and smart software made possible by an investment in a partnership with Noodoe, a global developer and provider of innovative EV charging software, ABM bolsters its ability to provide solutions to design, build, operate and maintain custom, scalable EV infrastructure installations.

Blink Charging Co. has announced the launch of its latest 240kW DC Fast Charger. This compact, speed-focused charging station will be available across international markets, designed to rapidly charge the EVs of the present and future. Blink Charging Co. has announced it is fully committed to meeting the EV charging needs of drivers, regardless of vehicle model, by incorporating both the North America Charging Standard and Combined Charging System into Blink’s state-of-the-art line of charging products. 

ParkMobile is expanding in Omaha, Nebraska, as the city broadens its mobile parking payment options. In early June, the ParkMobile app will be available for on-demand parking in almost 10,000 on- and off-street spaces throughout Omaha. ParkMobile is partnering with the National Western Complex in Denver to offer event parking reservations through its mobile app and website. “As ParkMobile continues to expand its footprint, we are thrilled to partner with National Western Complex to provide our digital payment services for its events year-round,” said David Hoyt, ParkMobile’s managing director. ParkMobile announced that the Atlanta-based company has reached the 50 million user milestone as it continues to expand across North America. Since being founded in 2008, ParkMobile has processed over 98 billion minutes of parking. 

OMNIQ Corp. announced that the company is deploying its AI enhanced parking and security solution to three additional airports bringing its total deployment to 60 Airports across the U.S. CEO Shai Lustgarten stated “We are thrilled to announce that we have been chosen once again to implement our cutting-edge AI-based Machine Vision solution in three major airports, further expanding our reach in Michigan, Virginia, and Hawaii.”

The new Sixth Street Viaduct Project in Los Angeles won the 2023 “Grand Conceptor” Award signifying the year’s most outstanding engineering achievement. The project was honored at the 57th Annual Engineering Excellence Awards Gala—a national juried competition awards ceremony sponsored by the American Council of Engineering Companies. Designed by HNTB of Los Angeles, the Sixth Street Viaduct is a 3,500-foot tied arch bridge locally called the “Ribbon of Light.”

City of Columbia Parking Services officials announced the 2023 amnesty program. Administrators said the City of Columbia citizens will have the opportunity to have all late fees forgiven that are 30 days up to 3 years old. According to officials, the program only applies to parking tickets and not traffic citations. The program ran from July 01, 2023, through July 31, 2023.
