Allentown Parking Authority Executive Director John Morgan left his post with the organization May 1 in a “mutually agreed” upon decision. Morgan joined the parking authority in 2017 and oversaw several major projects in the city. “I have served here successfully for over six and a half years, did a lot of great things, and we have agreed to part ways,” Morgan said. Jon Haney, the parking authority’s deputy director, will serve as interim executive director while the authority forms a search committee for its next leader.

During a pilot program, the NYPD will assess the Barnacle’s ability to improve parking management and promote fairness and efficiency for all New York City residents and visitors.

 

LAZ Parking purchased Seattle-based IPM in a deal that will give LAZ a market-leading presence in the Seattle metro area. The deal will add 14,000 parking spaces to the LAZ Parking family, making it one of the largest parking operators in Seattle.

 

SolarEdge Technologies, Inc., a global leader in smart energy technology, acquired the entire share capital of Wevo Energy Ltd. Wevo is a software startup specializing in EV charging optimization and management for sites with large quantities of EV chargers such as apartment buildings, workplace carparks and public charging locations.

Due to legislation signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, private parking facilities throughout Florida will soon have to abide by several new consumer-protection rules such as a 15-minute grace period in which motorists can enter and exit a parking facility without being charged. The Car Park, a parking management company based in Boise, Idaho, will manage Atlanta’s Atlantic Station expansive parking facilities and transportation services, including the district’s three-level parking deck with 6,000 spaces, more than 200 metered parking spaces and shuttle services around the neighborhood as well as to and from MARTA. Atlantic Station previously had a 20-year contract with REEF/Lanier Parking.
