Allentown Parking Authority Executive Director John Morgan left his post with the organization May 1 in a “mutually agreed” upon decision. Morgan joined the parking authority in 2017 and oversaw several major projects in the city. “I have served here successfully for over six and a half years, did a lot of great things, and we have agreed to part ways,” Morgan said. Jon Haney, the parking authority’s deputy director, will serve as interim executive director while the authority forms a search committee for its next leader.

ParkMobile, a provider of smart parking and mobility solutions in North America and part of EasyPark Group, is modernizing the parking permit system in Delaware, Ohio. Residents and visitors will be able to reserve their parking monthly pass via the ParkMobile app or web browser. Additionally, drivers will be able to pay for parking at over 300 on-street and off-street parking spaces throughout the town through ParkMobile.


CK Consulting, an independent expert consultancy in parking operations and technology, proudly announced Victor Alistar is joining their dynamic team and partner board. Victor will spearhead a pioneering organization dedicated to mobility and transportation consulting services in North America in the public and private sectors.


EVPassport and Associa, announced a strategic partnership to provide next-generation electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at Associa-managed communities throughout the United States. Under the agreement, Associa will implement EVPassport’s infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platform across its national portfolio of managed communities, delivering a reliable, frictionless charging experience to over five million residents.


Zevtron, the innovative smart EV charging software and hardware solutions provider, and Chauntry, the parking reservations leader, announced a partnership to enhance airport EV charging services. This innovative solution leverages Zevtron’s industry-leading smart EV charging software within the existing Chauntry Parkspace reservation system, enabling EV drivers to effortlessly reserve charging stations before their flights. 


TripShot, an industry-leading transportation management solution for companies, universities and hospitals, has announced its latest feature, FlexRide. TripShot’s FlexRide is an innovative new transit SaaS solution that automatically creates dynamic routes by factoring in user-requested pickup/drop-off locations and predetermined stops and times.


Propark Mobility announced that Ben Johanning has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President. Trevelino/Keller, a nationally ranked growth PR and marketing firm, announcesd a new partnership with Barnacle Parking, the producer of The Barnacle®, an intelligent parking enforcement solution with motorist self-release capabilities. Barnacle Parking also announced, its engagement with the New York City Police Department (NYPD). During a pilot program, the NYPD will assess the Barnacle’s ability to improve parking management and promote fairness and efficiency for all New York City residents and visitors.


LAZ Parking purchased Seattle-based IPM in a deal that will give LAZ a market-leading presence in the Seattle metro area. The deal will add 14,000 parking spaces to the LAZ Parking family, making it one of the largest parking operators in Seattle.


SolarEdge Technologies, Inc., a global leader in smart energy technology, acquired the entire share capital of Wevo Energy Ltd. Wevo is a software startup specializing in EV charging optimization and management for sites with large quantities of EV chargers such as apartment buildings, workplace carparks and public charging locations.


Annette Clayton, chairwoman and former CEO of Schneider Electric, has joined Flash’s board of directors. “We are incredibly fortunate to welcome Annette to our board of directors,” said Dan Sharplin, Flash’s CEO and Chairman. Also Flash, EV Connect and Qmerit announced a partnership that will accelerate the expansion of EV charging solutions by uniting an integrated charging management platform by EV Connect, the scale of Flash’s North American digital infrastructure, and the installation, integration, and maintenance services offered by Qmerit.


Paul Gray has joined Barron Lighting Group’s executive team as the Director of Growlite – the company’s division specializing in lighting for the horticulture industry.


The City of Edmonton has switched to HotSpot for mobile pay parking system. HotSpot also became available in Uxbridge, Ont.

Due to legislation signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, private parking facilities throughout Florida will soon have to abide by several new consumer-protection rules such as a 15-minute grace period in which motorists can enter and exit a parking facility without being charged. The law also prohibits a private parking facility owner or operator from selling, offering to sell or transferring to another person for sale the personal information of a customer.

Parking Management Company (PMC), a national parking services provider, has acquired Chattanooga-based Bird Dog Parking. PMC, a leader in hospitality and commercial parking management and tech-based parking solutions, will incorporate Bird Dog’s 33 locations in Tennessee, Alabama and Missouri into their national portfolio. Bird Dog Parking is co-owned by Mitch Patel and Brook Weresuk. Patel, founder and CEO of Vision Hospitality Group, will continue his dynamic leadership of the hotel ownership and management group.


Professional Parking Technologies LLC unveiled a new identity, including a new name and logo, as part of an extensive rebranding initiative. The company has officially rebranded to ParkSwift North America. The ParkSwift North America branding better reflects the company’s commitment to helping parking owners meet their parking technology needs during a time of rapid change.


New York City is replacing 80,000 parking meters with a new paperless, pay by plate system. It eliminates the need for drivers to put a receipt on the dashboard when parking.

Ocra announced its successful raise of $3.5 million in strategic capital in an oversubscribed round led by Parker Technology, a leading technology-led services company in the parking industry, and MCR Hotels, the third largest hotel owner-operator in the United States. Other strategic partners contributing to the round include Callahan Family Office, HB Companies, Helene Ventures, Long Run Capital, Sunstone Management, and more. Originally targeted at $3 million, this oversubscribed round reflects a strong vote of confidence in the company’s vision, team, and technology.

Amazon became the largest U.S. private EV charging operator company and has installed more than 17,000 chargers at 120 warehouses. The company has come further and faster in the transition to EVs than most of its competitors. 


The Car Park, a parking management company based in Boise, Idaho, will manage Atlanta’s Atlantic Station expansive parking facilities and transportation services, including the district’s three-level parking deck with 6,000 spaces, more than 200 metered parking spaces and shuttle services around the neighborhood as well as to and from MARTA. Atlantic Station previously had a 20-year contract with REEF/Lanier Parking.


Q-Free, a global leader in mobility solutions for smart city infrastructure, announced that Mark Talbot joined the company as Executive Chair, effective April 2, 2024. He will lead the company, overseeing all aspects of day-to-day operations, innovation, sales, marketing, growth, and long-term vision. Talbot brings global leadership experience, steering Q-Free at an important time for the company as it recently transitioned to private ownership.
