AppyParking is pleased to announce that Kieran Fitsall, former Head of Service Improvement and Transformation at Westminster City Council, will join the AppyParking team as Regional Director of Asia-Pacific. Kieran joins AppyParking with immediate effect and will be based in Sydney, Australia where he will be looking at new international opportunities across Australia, China and Japan. The company also announced their new Head of Marketing as Garry Thornton. Garry previously worked at Zipcar UK where he was responsible for changing people’s perceptions of car ownership and bringing the concept of car sharing into the UK mainstream.

Hikob SA was established in 2011 and is one of the leading IoT/sensor companies in France with a strong foothold within parking, traffic and weather sensors. Hikob is one of the pioneers within IoT in France and has regularly been on the list of the 100 most interesting industrial IoT companies (IoTone).

Toledo Ticket Company, a leading provider of ticketing solutions for over 108 years, has named Dave Dorner Vice President of Marketing and Sales. Dorner has held executive positions in sales, sales training, and sales management, and brings over 25 years of experience in business development, operations management, and performance assessment through leadership positions at Abbott Laboratories, the University of Toledo, and the Stone Mill Group. Dorner is a former Executive Director of the Oregon Economic Development Foundation and Director of Business Development for Rocket Ventures, LLC.

Parking and transit ticketing leader, Flowbird, is pleased to announce the promotion of Julianne Wilhelm to Marketing Manager for the U.S. territory. Julianne joined Flowbird (previously Cale America and Parkeon) in October of 2017 as Marketing Coordinator, responsible for creating the proactive marketing strategy for Cale’s organizational goals. Moving closer to its goals to have more students finding parking spots faster as they arrive on campus and to adequately provide for future enrollment growth, California State University, Northridge, has awarded a contract to design and build a five-level parking structure on the 353-acre campus. There is a total of four garages on campus.

The SKIDATA Northwest office has completed another efficiently installed project with new partner CommonWealth Partners (CWP). The City Center Plaza in Bellevue, Washington services over 500 monthly tenants as well as 100+ daily visitors to the nearby outlets. The SKIDATA system was selected for its reliability, sleek design, and ease of use. “The equipment is super sleek and clean,” said, Elizabeth Vance, Assistant Property Manager at CommonWealth Partners. “We also really like that the displays on the machines were somewhat customizable to our building. Every step of this process has been straightforward and easy to follow.” 

T2 Systems today announced the first major sale of Luke® Cosmo multi-space pay stations. T2 will partner with SP Plus to install 40 Luke Cosmo units in the City of Tampa, and will continue updating Tampa’s entire fleet of multi-space pay stations over the next two years. “We designed Luke Cosmo specifically for on-street parking in communities and cities,” said Scot DeLancey, Senior Vice President, Product and Strategy for T2. “It’s exciting to have industry leaders like SP Plus and the City of Tampa in the first major implementation.” 

European online parking reservation company, ParkCloud, has renewed its contract with Paris Beauvais Airport. The company will continue to offer its passengers the option of prebooking at all three of Beauvais’ on-site car parks. The company has continued its global expansion with the announcement of key 2018 successes to date. It has added 100 car parks across 12 countries to its portfolio further bolstering its online network for over 3 million users.

The University of North Dakota and Passport announce the launch of the PassportParking® mobile application across campus. The mobile application is powered by Passport, the global leader of mobile payments for parking and transit serving transportation operations throughout North America. For the first time, students, faculty and visitors at University of Dakota will have the option to pay for parking with a mobile application.

Allpro Parking is pleased to announce that effective from July 1, 2018, the company has successfully taken over the full operation of four former Ellicott Parking lots at the following locations in Buffalo, New York; 270 Main Street, 100 Pearl Street, 65 West Tupper Street, and 30 Court Street. Allpro Parking continues to provide the same service to customers including attendant-style parking with valet assist and parking meters for convenience on nights and weekends. In total Allpro Parking is servicing more than 300 customers a day at these new locations. 

Flowbird’s Whoosh! parking app has officially launched in two Massachusetts towns – the Town of Salisbury and the Town of Tisbury, making remote parking payment a convenient option for residences and visitors. The Whoosh! mobile phone payment solution provides ultimate convenience to motorists. App users, otherwise referred to as, “Whooshers,” can pay for parking with their iPhone, Androids, and even through the Whoosh! website. Users receive a text reminder when their parking is about to expire and may add more time if needed, all without having to walk to their vehicle. 

WGI is pleased to announce that Nicole Chinea, CAPP joined the firm’s Parking Solutions Division as a senior project manager in its Houston office. She comes to WGI with over 15 years of experience with specific expertise in parking master planning, garage operations, strategic marketing planning, and patient transportation operations. Prior to joining WGI, Nicole served as director of parking and transportation for the largest medical center in the country – Texas Medical Center. 

Flowbird Regional Sales Manager, Laura Lierz, CAPP, has been elected as Chair for the Pacific Intermountain Parking & Transportation Association (PIPTA). Laura will serve for 2 years where she will move to Past-Chair for an additional 2 years. Laura has been on the PIPTA board since 2006. She was elected as secretary of the board until 2016 when she moved into the Vice Chair role for 2 years. As Chair, Laura is the Chief Executive Officer of the Association and is responsible to the Executive Committee and Board for implementation and administration of policies. She is the chief spokesperson and provides overall guidance on association matters and activities of its members.
