Genetec Inc. announced that the South Grand Community Improvement District (CID) in St. Louis, Missouri is using the Genetec Stratocast™ cloud-based video monitoring system to deter license plate theft in its parking lot and provide video access to the local police department to help reinforce security.

The City of Fort Lauderdale announced a partnership to implement Passport’s mobility platform, an innovative system designed to transform municipal mobility management. With the announcement, Fort Lauderdale becomes the first city in the United States to procure and select a partner to implement this cutting-edge solution to manage its entire parking operation.

When it comes to attention to detail, Rezcomm has it in spades. Victoria Wallace, Director of Digital at Rezcomm says: “One of our fundamental aims when designing the new Shop platform was to produce a technology that provides perfect synergy between the needs of our airport and venue clients and those of their customers. ParkMobile announced a new partnership with the City of Mobile, Alabama that will enable people to pay for city parking from their mobile devices. The ParkMobile app is now available at approximately 400 on-street spaces. New stickers and signage will provide information to drivers on how to pay for parking using the new app. ParkMobile also announced a new partnership with the City of Sarasota that will allow people to skip the meter and pay for parking from their mobile device. The ParkMobile app will be available at hundreds of spaces in the St. Armands Shopping District. Another new partnership is with University of San Diego and it will enable people to easily pay for parking from their mobile device. The company is also introducing a new feature available in the MPLS Parking app allowing people to reserve spots for sporting events and concerts at major entertainment venues including U.S. Bank Stadium, Target Field, Minneapolis Convention Center and Target Center. People can also book hourly parking reservations at 11 gated garages around the city.

INDECT U.S.A. announces that installation of their premium camera-based parking guidance system, the UPSOLUT, is currently underway at Navy Pier in Chicago, IL. Navy Pier is the Midwest’s number one tourist attraction with over 8 million visitors each year. “We are excited to be involved in such an iconic project in the heart of Chicago with our local partner RevCon Technology Group.” said Dale Fowler, President of INDECT U.S.A. INDECT, has completed their latest parking guidance installation at Abu Dhabi’s newest theme park, Warner Bros. WorldTM. A total of 1250 ultrasonic, single-space sensors and 50 wayfinding signs have been installed in the visitors’ parking garage with an additional 700 spaces available on the rooftop. And INDECT U.S.A. announces the latest installation of their intelligent parking guidance system at The Corners of Brookfield in Brookfield, Wisconsin. The new parking guidance system is part of the town’s $7 million upgrade and includes custom designed wayfinding signs with extra-large digits that can be easily seen from long distances.

People and vehicle access control specialist Nortech is now offering long-range vehicle and driver identification tags to grant seamless access to approaching vehicles. Designed to accompany the popular TRANSIT reader range from Nedap, the tags are ideal for use in staff car parks, for priority vehicle control, industrial site access control, fleet and parking management. Key features include simultaneous driver and vehicle identification, a reading distance of up to 10m, easy windshield mounting with suction pads and maximum perimeter security.

Royal Farms Arena is offering event-goers a new way to travel to the Arena, saving them time, money, and easing, frustrations, around finding a parking spot. Starting today, drivers can find, book, and pay for parking powered by ParkWhiz before reaching the Arena. “Our goal is to provide drivers the most seamless parking experience possible because we understand that parking is just a means to your final destination,” said Dan Roarty, president and chief operating officer at ParkWhiz. 

Complete Coach Works (CCW) is proud to announce its contract award to upgrade the aging AvantAC System in 50 Wrightbuses for Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC). A full redesign of the HVAC system was required as a lack of available components to repair the AvantAC system has caused an increasing inability to service the system resulting in buses not being able to be used in revenue service. CCW has also been awarded a contract with Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) to furnish and install up to 484 three-position bike racks and 73 spare units. The company also announced it was awarded a contract by Montebello Bus Lines (MBL) for the electrification and rehabilitation of three New Flyer buses.

The Amazing Brentwood, located in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia will now feature Park Assist’s patented M4 Parking Guidance System (PGS). The 28-acre project situated just outside Vancouver, Canada will be one of the most significant mixed-use master planned communities in North America. Park Assist has been awarded the Parking Guidance System (PGS) contract for Port of Miami Cruise Terminal A. The new terminal was built to accommodate the over 5,500 Royal Caribbean passengers boarding the massive Oasis-class ships in Miami, FL. Park Assist has also been awarded the Parking Guidance System (PGS) contract for Vancouver International Airport (YVR), following a competitive bid process. Park Assist provides the leading PGS Solution to further elevate customer service experiences. Park Assist will be supplying YVR with M4 camera based smart-sensor powered technology. It will also be fully integrated with the PARCS system to add more
seamless functionality.

The City of Evanston, Illinois, has partnered with Flowbird Group to launch a new pay-by-plate parking system in the downtown core. The 80 new Flowbird CWT parking kiosks, supplied by Total Parking Solutions Inc., will replace nearly 1,000 old single-space meters, modernizing the city’s mobility platform. The upgrade comes as the city’s old meters from 2013 are reaching end of life, several needing new parts and freezing up in harsh winter weather.

The property currently offers approximately 2,000 covered and uncovered spaces with capacity to expand to 3,500 total spaces.

Ballparc is pleased to announce the launch of its Enforcement solution with Allpro Parking in the operator’s Cincinnati, OH market. The cloud-based handheld system will allow Allpro to patrol their locations and issue citations efficiently, while providing its customers with a convenient online portal to navigate the citation process. One of the ways the new system improves efficiency is a result of how the Enforcement mobile app combines location technology and paid vehicle data from a variety of sources to inform officers and managers. 

SpotHero and Oobeo, a cloud-based valet parking software provider, have announced a partnership to improve valet parking for both companies’ customers nationwide. Under the partnership, Oobeo will assume and service SpotHero’s ticketless valet software clients, and SpotHero will gain access to hundreds of additional valet parking locations near restaurants, airports, and hotels currently using Oobeo’s solution.

NetPark and Hamilton have installed a complete PARCS system for Green Mango Airport Parking near the Jacksonville International Airport. Green Mango provides both valet, self park & cruise parking options to travelers parking at Jacksonville International Airport & cruise port.  Green Mango is utilizing the netPark cloud based revenue control system, mobile valet system, website reservation module, loyalty customer website module, loyalty customer app and the Hamilton line of ticket machines and pay stations all powered by netPark.

The City of Colorado Springs is pleased to announce the hiring of Scott B. Lee as Parking Enterprise Director. Lee will play an essential strategic role in engaging parking as a key economic driver in the city’s growing downtown while overseeing the city’s three parking garages and on-street meters. The enterprise currently includes nearly 2,500 garage spaces and over 2,000 on-street parking meters.

FlashParking announces a successful annual compliance audit of the Payment Card Industry-Data Security Standards outlined in the latest version (3.2.1). FlashParking remains the leading Level 1 Service Provider in the parking industry with this annual PCI-DSS accreditation. The City of Austin is releasing an upgraded mobile pay parking app, Park ATX. Created by Passport, Park ATX allows drivers to pay for parking with their smartphones at more than 10,000 parking spots throughout the city. Passport has been working with Austin since 2016 and managed the city’s previous mobile pay app, ParkX. Beginning this week, users will seamlessly switch to the new app, Park ATX. There will be no interruption in service and rates will stay the same, but there will be an improved user experience.

Vehicles fueled by propane autogas are ideal for businesses that demand consistent performance day in and day out, like those in the parking industry. And, alternative-fueled options, like ROUSH CleanTech’s line-up of propane-powered Ford commercial vehicles, can help parking management companies reduce their fleet’s bottom line. “Our mechanic is astonished at how clean the oil is when our propane vehicles are due for service, and our drivers say that the propane vehicles function better

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. Southern Region has appointed Mike Benford to Director of Business Development. In this role, Benford is responsible for commercial business development as well as the civil and transportation market across the region. Specifically, he will focus on aviation, parking structures, site civil, transportation and general
commercial construction.

San Francisco International Airport’s second long-term parking structure––built right next to the first– opened during the second month of the year. The new 3,600-stall garage, which took two years to be completed, was the second largest construction project in progress, surpassed only by the ongoing redevelopment of Terminal 1, a $2.4 billion endeavor.

ParkCloud, has finalized a renewal contract with Europe’s second fastest growing airport, Riga International. Following consistent booking growth over the three-year contract term, ParkCloud will continue to market on-site parking at Riga Airport through numerous consumer-facing channels. Passengers looking to book long-stay parking alongside their flights, will be able to reserve online at the airport’s P3 car park, which is a few minutes’ walk from the airport’s terminal building.  

An often-overlooked feat of skill and strategy takes place just before the Big Game begins – and it happens in stadium parking lots. For the fourth consecutive year, SP+ GAMEDAY selected ParkHub to support their parking operations team in servicing the ultimate showdown in football. The results are in: at the peak time of traffic, parking payments and passes for 70,081 fans, 2,491 cars, 39 limos, 36 buses were processed in less than six seconds apiece.

Officials with the Orange County Transportation Authority and the City of Orange welcomed the five-level Old Towne West Metrolink Parking Structure recently completed by general contractor Bomel Construction Co. Inc. and construction management firm Hill International Inc. The $29.5-million garage is expected to reduce the parking shortage for rail commuters and visitors to the area. Old Towne was listed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1997.

Kleinfelder announced that Lisa Millet has joined the firm as Executive Vice President and Central Division Director. Millet is a seasoned executive with significant experience providing strategic leadership for global and national engineering and construction operations. Based in Kleinfelder’s Denver, CO office, Millet will oversee the company’s operations throughout the Central United States and Canada.
