Smarking announced the release of the parking industry’s first algorithmic and fully-automatic dynamic pricing engine. The product, known as AYM (read as “aim”; Automatic Yield Management), utilizes Smarking’s baseline business intelligence product to capture historic, real-time, and forecasted demand, and calculates the ever-changing demand curves for a parking location in order to set parking rates.

Gulf Traffic, an annual event that takes place from the 9 – 11 of December this year, will bring to light some of the latest technologies and systems from global suppliers to Dubai. Rahul Rawat, Exhibition Director of Gulf Traffic, says the GCC countries are some of the world’s most determined, when it comes to developing large-scale infrastructure. 

According to Dale Fowler, former president of INDECT USA, says automotive grade, long-range ultrasonic sensors with ceramic transducers provide detection that is extremely accurate and reliable, and has a lifespan of 15-20 years. He says INDECT’s ultrasonic technology is unbeaten record in accuracy, reliability and lowest cost of life. South Loop garage will be the second location in Chicago to offer customers a premium parking experience with the INDECT parking guidance system. “We first introduced the concept of premium parking at our downtown location earlier this year,” said Michael Prussian, Chief Investment Officer and co-founder of Interpark. HEB has again chosen the INDECT parking guidance system to feature at their new premium store at Meyerland Plaza, San Antonio. This will be the fourth installation of an INDECT parking guidance system at HEB stores. INDECT USA also announces the successful installation of their ultrasonic parking guidance system at Des Moines International Airport, Iowa, with their local partner The Baker Group.

The PK Series from Trace-Lite by Barron Lighting Group is an RxA LED area luminaire and pole kit. The RxA features a sleek low-profile housing design in lumen packages ranging from 9600 lumens to 41,000 lumens. Its high-efficiency light engine is designed for optimal light control and illumination with three distribution types in three physical sizes. 

CityLift Parking has completed its Series C capital round with Dundon Capital Partners LLC. The investment is the largest completed for any U.S. automated parking lift company in the market today. CityLift plans to use funds to accelerate its growth and invest in technology innovation. John Zutter, Jason Kulas and Jeff Vanderbilt from DCP will be joining CityLift’s Board. 

Back in the late 1800s, the Scranton, Pennsylvania established the nation’s first successful, continuously-operating electrified streetcar (trolley) system, inspiring the nickname “Electric City.”  Now, approximately 130 years later, the city has partnered with Flowbird Group to launch a new pay-by-plate parking system to support visitor flexibility and ease. Jerome, Arizona has partnered with Flowbird Group to launch a new pay-by-plate parking system to manage and support its long-term economic vitality. The solution of Flowbird pay stations and the mobile app will bring flexible and dynamic management of parking rights and fees.

Complete Coach Works announced that it recently acquired UL 508A certification from Underwriters Laboratories LLC for its industrial control panels that supply power to charge electric vehicles. “UL tests to the most rigorous standards. Our company is thrilled to have exceeded those requirements,” said Chuck Barnes, Vice President of Complete Coach Works. Complete Coach Works also announced it was awarded a contract from Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority to supply four refurbished 35-ft Gillig diesel buses.

 Pacific Cascade Corporation and Midwest Parking & Facility Products have had a long-term collaborative and business relationship since MWP opened. Steve Vincelli established MWP in 1991. Prior to that, Vincelli worked for a property management company in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he oversaw the operations for several parking facilities.

IDA’s Annual Conference & Tradeshow is the premier gathering for professional placemakers and urban champions. 

Shelbourne Global Solutions, LLC announced that it has acquired a 295-space lot at 180 Alynn St. from Tishman Realty for an undisclosed amount. “Meeting the parking needs of our tenants is our primary reason for making this purchase,” said Ben Schlossberg, Managing Member of Shelbourne Global Solutions, LLC.

A new residential and commercial building is currently being built on Oakland Avenue in Jersey City – and it will have a fully-automated car parking system with 181 parking spaces. The system with the stolzer brand name is designed and manufactured by Stopa Anlagenbau GmbH. This is a resounding success for Stopa and its American cooperation partner Automotion. 

LAZ Parking is proud to announce its partnership agreement to manage related operations for The Wynwood Garage in the Wynwood Arts District of Miami. Developed and owned by Goldman Properties, The Wynwood Garage was designed by world-renowned Faulders Studio as a transformative and functional work of art to keep up with the area’s demand for convenient and reliable parking services.

 Eberle Design, Inc. announced the appointment of Kevin Dye, CPA to the position of Vice President – Finance, with immediate effect. “We are excited to have Mr. Dye join Eberle Design, Inc. and lead the Finance team,” said Dr. Bill Sowell, EDI President. The company also announces the promotion of Dr. John Shearer to the position of Vice President – Business Development.

Delta Scientific announced that traffic access control professionals can now set up MP5000 portable barriers on concrete, asphalt, compacted soils or vegetation in 15 minutes or less to provide certified M50 stopping power. “Significantly, we are releasing the first M50 rated portable barrier system to the world at a time when military grade portable protection is imperative,” emphasizes Keith Bobrosky, Delta Scientific senior vice president. 

ParkVia, has secured a new contract with its longest-standing airline partner, Wizz Air, one of Europe’s fastest growing airlines and the largest low-cost carrier in Central and Eastern Europe, following the successful launch of its latest project. ParkVia is now integrated with the Hungarian low-cost carrier to provide in-path booking flow technology. ParkVia, has renewed its contract with Italian high-speed rail network, Italo, for a third consecutive year following consistent booking figures.

The Lancaster Parking Authority hosted a public demolition ceremony in Ewell Plaza, 151 N. Queen St., Lancaster. The ceremony was the symbolic end to the last standing section of the concrete structure at the former Lancaster Square location. The old annex will be demolished for the new Christian Street Garage, Lancaster Public Library and retail space, said Larry J. Cohen, executive director of the Lancaster Parking Authority. 

National design and professional services firm WGI has been in overdrive for the first three quarters of 2019, exceeding 2018 in the expansion of its employees, services, clients, and geographic footprint. WGI kicked off the new year with the acquisition of Austin, Texas-based BIG RED DOG, adding to its Texas market presence with five locations in the state.

The Town of Andover announces the launch of an end-to-end parking solution with Passport. The system includes the Passport Parking app which allows drivers to pay for parking through their smartphones, a real-time enforcement platform, and a digital permit service for residents of Andover. The Village of Arlington Heights, Ill. will launch a mobile app for parking payments through Passport Parking. The app can be used to pay for parking for more than 900 daily fee parking spaces in the downtown area instead of using cash at traditional pay boxes located in each parking lot and garage.

Cleverciti Systems has named Tony Hinnant as Director of Sales Engineering and Customer Success for North America. In this role, Hinnant will report to Cleverciti Senior Vice President of Sales Joe Survance and will deliver leading professional services activity including sales engineering, project management and product management to ensure customer success with Cleverciti smart parking technologies.

Asura Technologies is happy to announce the release of a new feature for its mobile LPR solution ARU MOVE: digital chalking. Physical contact with the vehicle is no longer a problem; it is fully eliminated from the process with license plate recognition and GPS location tagging. 

SKIDATA AG has implemented numerous projects in the car and people access segment in the Portuguese market since 1998. Among other projects, the soccer club Benfica Lisbon was equipped with extensive access solutions in the stadium as well as in the parking area. In order to ensure even greater market expanse and presence, SKIDATA has moved to set up its own branch moving forward.

With the acquisition of the Berlin-based data company Parkling GmbH, PARK NOW is strengthening its international portfolio of digital parking solutions. With the integration of Parkling’s parking prediction, the PARK NOW services will have an immediate impact on improving the traffic situation in cities, as it helps to reduce the 30 percent of inner-city traffic caused by the search for parking spots. 

Parker Technology was recognized at the 2019 Indiana Breakout Tech Culture Awards on September 18thas one of the 50 top-rated tech cultures in the state of Indiana, out of 268 nominated companies who participated in the Powderkeg Tech Census this year. iParq is unveiling a new integration with PayByPhone that provides Parking Enforcement Officers (PEOs) a simple, quick way to verify if payment has been made via the PayByPhone app. The integration allows PEO’s to access parking reservations in a single platform, making it simpler and quicker for them to determine if the vehicle is in violation and issue a citation from iParq handhelds.

Mayor Eric Garcetti broke ground today on the Consolidated Rent-A-Car facility at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), which will centralize rental car operations into one convenient location and offer a direct connection to the upcoming Automated People Mover (APM) train. The Mayor was joined at the ceremony by Councilmembers Mike Bonin and Joe Buscaino.

TimHaahs recently completed the development of a new 750-space parking facility for Auburn University in Auburn, AL. TimHaahs served as the parking consultant and engineer of record for the garage which will serve the university, as well as the Auburn Hotel and Conference Center. The garage will also support the growing parking needs of special events on campus.

Leonard Simek was recently named Vice President of Strategic Alliances for The Toledo Ticket Company, a provider of ticketing solutions for nearly 110 years. Simek, who joined Toledo Ticket in 2013 as Business Development Manager, has over 30 years of experience in printing and sales. Before joining Toledo Ticket Simek held senior management positions in the printing industry.

PayByPhone announced that Stephen Lazenby has been named Chief Product Officer. An experienced software product and development leader, Lazenby joins PayByPhone from Global Relay Communications, where he was Global Head of Product. In his new position, Lazenby will lead PayByPhone’s global product development team.

 Winpark announced today that Amy Zaid has been named as the company’s new Regional Vice President. “Amy has always demonstrated a best-in-class approach to Winpark’s operations across our portfolio,” said Winpark’s President, Drew Riley. “Her focus has always been ‘quality over quantity’ which has translated into optimal financial performance for our clients and stakeholders.”
