The City of Lansing, Michigan has announced its 5-year ‘Extreme Makeover’ plan to the city’s parking services in partnership with Flowbird. In mid-October, the city went live with 80 new solar powered Strada Pay Stations, replacing older coin operated meters. The Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) has also announced a partnership with Flowbird Group. The company will replace 1,110 existing parking kiosks in Philadelphia’s downtown core, and will eventually replace 8,416 single-space coin operated meters in other parts of
the city.

Way.com announced the expansion of its offerings to include WayPass: a new subscription-based Parking and Meal Plan service. Starting today, WayPass offers city-goers in San Francisco a convenient and cost-effective solution for the day-to-day urban experience, with planned expansions to New York and Los Angeles in the coming months.

Park Assist has been awarded the Parking Guidance System (PGS) contract for Capitol View-Block D. Under Boyle Investment Company, Capitol View will be a 32-acre, mixed-use urban district in the heart of Nashville. Park Assist also has been awarded the Parking Guidance System (PGS) contract for Easton Town Center’s Worth and Midtown Garages in Columbus, Ohio. Easton Town Center is an expanding indoor and outdoor shopping complex. 

SacPark, the City of Sacramento’s parking reservation system has created a partnership with Arrive, Ticketmaster and Waze so customers can find, book and pay for parking in advance of the event, and more easily navigate to their destination. Arrive is accelerating the deployment of its seamless parking solutions across North America, moving from city-based tests to wide-scale implementation of its frictionless technologies.

Grid Smarter Cities has won an Innovate UK contract, looking to create an innovative Freight Traffic Control Platform to help manage construction freight movements and deliveries in congested urban centers. Grid is working in parallel with a number of specialist partners to investigate the potential of vehicle telematics, 3D mapping and Electric Vehicles on the future of construction logistic operations.

HUBER+SUHNER has announced the commercial launch of the RADOX® EV-C connectivity solution to provide hybrid and electric vehicles – particularly trucks, buses, construction and special vehicles – with a safe and reliable connection that is suitable for the most demanding applications, including high temperatures, current peaks, extreme mechanical loads and harsh environments.

(EDI), today issued the following statement: “It is with great sadness that we announce that Wayne Pengelly, Senior Design Engineer, passed away on Friday. He had been a valued member of our engineering team since September 2002 and will be missed. Wayne brought a remarkable passion, experience and energy to EDI to propel the company forward and ensure the quality of EDI products never wavered.”

AppyWay, the pioneering curbside management and intelligent mobility firm, announced the launch of their innovative Smart City Parking scheme in the West Yorkshire town of Halifax in partnership with Calderdale Council. The launch follows the successful implementation of the same scheme in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, earlier in 2019.

LocoMobi World Inc. is proud to introduce their License Plate Recognition (LPR) system and CondoPark parking management software in Miami’s premier community, Bay Parc Apartments, owned and managed by Apartment and Investment Management Company (AIMCO). ParkMobile announced a new reporting and analytics solution for parking providers. This new offering will be part of the ParkMobile 360 platform and it provides visual dashboards, making it easy to monitor results and spot potential issues. ParkMobile has partnered with the city of Fresno, California, to enable drivers to pay for parking from their mobile device. The ParkMobile app is now available for over 2,000 spaces around the city. ParkMobile has also announced the launch of the Park 915 app in the City of El Paso. This new app will replace the Park El Paso app effective in early May as new stickers and signs are posted on meters around the city. 

The City of San Diego, CA recently enhanced its parking enforcement program with the addition of 16 new GO-4 task-specific vehicles. The city is retiring units from the mid-2000s. The new units will have air ride seats, air conditioning, back up cameras, a more efficient and quieter drivetrain.

The Division of Parking Services in Columbus, Ohio, has been named an Innovative Organization of the Year by the National Parking Association for its work with Conduent Incorporated. The award recognizes Columbus’ success in managing the supply and demand for parking in the Short North Arts District. Conduent helped to develop a virtual parking permit program for the city using a validation code via the ParkColumbusapp, powered by ParkMobile. The system enables enforcement using Genetec license plate recognition technology. Conduent has appointed Sean Mackin as a Regional Director for its Parking & Curbside Management business. He will oversee business operations in the central U.S., including Denver and Dallas. His responsibilities will include oversight of local program teams, ensuring excellence in service delivery, and implementing Conduent’s next-generation systems and solutions. 

TagMaster now has collaboration with the three largest integrators in the German market as a subcontractor of RFID sensors for access control solutions. “This is a breakthrough for us as we enter a large new market. The potential lies in adding value to the integrators’ solutions because our products are safer than the alternatives, provide more information and are more cost effective”, said Jonas Svensson, CEO, TagMaster.

INDECT USA has successfully completed their first parking guidance installation at Washington Regional Medical Center (WRMC) in Fayetteville, Arkansas. “INDECT has worked with IPSens on a number of parking guidance projects where we have successfully integrated the NEDAP sensor into the INDECT system but this was the first time that it was done in reverse,” said Stephen Evans, General Manager at INDECT USA. INDECT USA has been awarded a contract at Concord Estates, the new multi-million-dollar, mixed-use development project in Passaic, New Jersey.

The Digital Curb debuts in five new cities across North America including Boston, Chicago, Atlanta, Denver and its first Canadian city Vancouver to its platform. This past June, the company announced a goal of supporting over 100 cities across the globe by 2021. At the same time, with the help of our engineering firm partners and municipalities, it added support for Austin, Miami, Philadelphia, San Diego and Washington D.C. to the Coord Toolkit.

The largest resort casino property California increased its annual profits by an estimated $60 million after deploying smart parking technology offered by San Francisco-based Parking Sense. The Southern California area resort casino implemented Parking Sense’s guidance technology in an effort to manage increased traffic volume following a recently completed $300 million expansion project that doubled the resort’s size.

Chauntry announced the introduction of the first parking reservations platform developed specifically for the exhibition and convention industry. Chauntry’s Parkspace Exhibition Platform allows exhibitors and convention attendees to reserve and pay for the closest available parking to their event before traveling to the convention location. 

The United Center and SpotHero today announced an official partnership that enables fans to find, book and pay for event parking using SpotHero. Just in time for the start of hockey and basketball seasons, guests will have access to official United Center parking spots available on SpotHero’s app and website, eliminating the stress of looking for parking upon arrival and enhancing the overall fan experience. 

Genetec Inc. unveiled its next-generation mobile ALPR (automatic license plate recognition) system at IACP in October. The new Genetec AutoVu™ SharpZ3  is among the first specialized in-vehicle ALPR systems in the world to use Intel’s latest deep learning and computer vision technology. The deep learning capabilities in the AutoVu SharpZ3 system will enable advanced levels of innovation in in-vehicle analytics, situational awareness, and accuracy.

Allpro Parking, LLC will begin deploying the Barnacle as their preferred method of parking enforcement. In order to run a comprehensive and professional parking operation, Allpro required an enforcement solution for those who fail to pay or follow regulations in their parking lots. This easy-to-use immobilization device simplifies parking enforcement; putting the customer in control over the release of the device.

Amano McGann and Smarking announced a formal partnership to provide thousands of Amano client sites and future sites with Smarking’s cutting edge Business Intelligence and Yield Management Enterprise Software-as-a-Service solution. “At Amano, we believe in investing in our clients and investing in innovation,” said Tom Benton, President & CEO of Amano McGann. 

ParkHub announced the company has hired Cliff Wickstrum to assume the role of VP of Sales Operations. Wickstrum is joining the organization under the direction of Laurens Eckelboom, ParkHub’s Chief Revenue Officer, to optimize systems and processes integral to the company’s business development. 

ParkVia has renewed its long-standing contract with the world’s leading airport operator, Aena. The announcement builds upon the success of previous renewals and the initial contract, which dates back to 2011, when ParkVia first promoted Aena’s parking facilities at Madrid, Barcelona and Malaga airports. The Queen’s personal representative, Mr. Warren Smith JP, Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, attended a ceremony hosted by ParkVia to present Managing Director, Mark Pegler with the official Queen’s Award trophy.

TIBA Parking Systems has been selected by the City of Santa Cruz, California to be their long-term parking technology partner. Through this partnership, TIBA will create and install a comprehensive parking technology suite to manage four city-owned public parking facilities with a total of 17 lanes and 1,675 spaces. TIBA Parking Systems and RED LPR are launching a global partnership to expand TIBA’s current license plate recognition (LPR) solutions. TIBA’s customers and Value Added Reseller’s (VAR’s) have immediate access to the full spectrum of RED LPR’s Fixed-Lane and REDmobile solutions.

KEYTOP has launched an automated parking payment system under WeChat Pay operation for its car parks across China. The system has been implemented in more than 2,000 KEYTOP parking lots nationwide in major shopping malls, railway stations, and airports. The company executive says the system will be expanded to parking sites in schools and popular tourist destinations. 

Denison Parking has brought on three new management team members. Melissa Brown, Director of Human Resources, brings her 20+ years plus in Human Resources to Denison. Sarah Harnish, Marketing Manager, joins Denison after years of experience in technology and healthcare. Ryan Connor has joined the team as General Manager of Denver, CO 

Drivers in Lansing, Mich. can use the Passport Parking app to pay for on street parking at nearly 3,000 spaces throughout the downtown area. The app, powered by mobility management company, Passport, enables users to digitally pay for parking without using a meter or paystation. Users download the free app and create an account with their vehicle and payment information and then can start a parking session. 

ECO Parking Technologies announced that they have recently received contracts and orders for 10 new projects for their integrated LED lighting and Vision-Based PGS system called, Falcon Vision. Formed in 2006 to serve the lighting industry through state-of-the-art U.S. made parking garage lighting, ECO has rapidly advanced to be a technology leader in the Parking space.

Hino Trucks is stepping into the NFL arena again to announce an additional partnership with an NFL team – the Los Angeles Rams. As the Official Commercial Truck of the Los Angeles Rams, Hino will work with the Rams to carry out their mutual goal of creating an authentic experience for their fan bases in Southern California.
