ParkVia has announced a new partnership with Wroclaw-Copernicus Airport operator Port Lotniczy Wrocław that will promote the airport’s parking, fast-track and lounge products. The deal will allow passengers flying from Poland’s fifth busiest airport to book ancillary services online at and across hundreds of partner sites.

Bft Automation has created a new parking services department, which focuses on helping organizations to optimize their revenue from parking facilities. This is an extension to an existing service which the access automation business has been running for some years. The move comes as businesses seek new revenue streams in the current economic climate.

Mobile Smart City Corporation is proud to announce that it is now offering Pango Mobile Parking App in Mount Rainier MD. The Pango app will provide a contactless stress-free way to pay for parking.

Park Assist has been awarded another Parking Guidance System contract for Santana Row in San Jose, California. Santana Row, a Federal Realty Investment Trust property, is Silicon Valley’s premier destination for shopping, dining, living, working, and playing. It offers 2.1 million square feet of retail, office, hotel, and residential space. Park Assist has been awarded the Parking Guidance System contract for Lake Nona Town Center’s latest Headquarters Office project. Developed by Tavistock Development Company, Lake Nona Town Center is a premier mixed-use destination located in Orlando, FL. The center consists of six million square feet of shopping, dining, and entertainment for guests, with a Marriott and Residence Inn on-site, an open-air social setting, and a nine-screen cinema. 

Parking Network has sought to keep both Airport Parking Managers and Solution and Service providers abreast of these with their Airport Parking Network Event (APNE). Airports are invited to join the Virtual APNE 2020 to stay connected with their peers, join expert workshops and talk one-to-one with service and solution providers. The event offers plentiful networking opportunities and interactive workshops hosted by experts in all types of airport parking. In 2019, over 250 airports worldwide were represented in the biggest airport event to date.

Parker Technology is now providing 24/7 customer support for three City of Billings, MT garages via the Parker Technology integrated FlashParking solution. The city sought out the solution to eliminate the need for internal staff to take calls, especially after-hours. “Partnering with Parker Technology has been one of our best investments this year. Their customer service is exceptional,” said Tracy Scott, Parking Division Manager.

Descartes Systems Group announced that it has acquired ShipTrack. Headquartered in Canada, ShipTrack provides cloud-based mobile resource management and shipment tracking solutions. These solutions help customers automate dispatch, updates on shipment status and estimated time of arrival (ETA), and eliminate paper-based delivery processes.

Smart Parking have partnered with Care Park and Queen Victoria Market to install a world-class parking management system that delivers on the requirements as set out in the design developed by Australian Parking Consultants. Queen Victoria Market will be transformed in stages into a new 1.75-hectare public open space as part of the City of Melbourne’s renewal of the market precinct.

ParkMobile has formed a new partnership with Platinum Parking in Cleveland, Ohio, to provide contactless parking payments at over 3,100 off-street spaces around the Theater District, Progressive Field, and throughout the city. ParkMobile has also launched a new service at The University of Texas at Austin. The University has been using ParkMobile for event parking over the past few years.  Now students, faculty, and visitors will be able to use the ParkMobile app to pay for parking at over 3,000 spaces around campus. The company has also launched service in the Cannery Row area of Monterey, California. This is part of the city’s plan to expand contactless parking payment options throughout the city. ParkMobile is already available at 1,500 spaces in off-street lots in Monterey. ParkMobile is integrating the ParkMobile experience within the new Google Pay app. With this integration, Google Pay users can pay for parking in over 240 ParkMobile cities across the U.S. without needing to download a separate parking app or create an account.

Less traffic looking for a parking space, fewer harmful emissions, a better quality of life: three funded smart city projects promise great progress in climate protection in the city of Koblenz. Together, Energieversorgung Mittelrhein (evm) and the city intend to use modern digital solutions to achieve better air quality and air pollution control.

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) has deployed its first CCTV enforcement cameras following a recent pilot.  The council is utilizing Videalert’s hosted digital video platform and has already installed cameras at five locations to enforce a range of moving traffic offences.

SP+ hired more than 75 employees to effectively operate a new shuttle program at SLC, which includes 39 buses. The shuttle routes transport passengers around the airport’s premises.

Fleet Advantage announced it secured a total of $223 million in truck lease syndications during its 2020 fiscal year ending on June 30, with an additional $89 million in syndications volume during its fiscal Q1 ending September 30.

Spanish traffic authorities (Dirección General de Trafico) have chosen Tattile cameras for a road surveillance project in the Spanish capital Madrid. Altogether 45 Tattile Vega Smart 2HD cctv traffic monitoring cameras have been installed to control the High Occupancy Vehicle lanes (Vehículos de Alta Ocupación or VAO) in the greater area of Madrid.

Electric vehicle charging hardware and software company EVBox announced that its award-winning Level 2 commercial charging station, EVBox Iqon, has received UL-certification and is available for installation across North America. Designed specifically for the scalability needs of the North American market, Iqon alleviates many of the common problems faced at EV charging locations at shopping centers, hotels, parking facilities, or workplaces.

Vision Components presents various new camera modules that combine high image quality and frame rates with the advantages of the MIPI CSI-2 interface and consist of the sensor board and a fully integrated MIPI adapter board. Thereby high-end image sensors from the Sony Pregius and Sony Starvis series, which have no native MIPI interface, can be used for flexible embedded vision designs based on popular processor boards. 

Passport announced that Passport Parking and its private label brands are now available in the new Google Pay app, which will make paying for parking quick and easy for users across its client base. “We designed Google Pay to help consumers and merchants engage and transact more conveniently and securely,” said Josh Woodward, Director, Google Pay. 

The Miami Parking Authority organized the “We are where you dine” campaign, in partnership with PayByPhone, designed to support Miami restaurants leading up to the holiday season. The integrated campaign offered PayByPhone customers who parked in Miami between November 23 and December 24, 2020, the opportunity to enter a holiday contest. Customers got a chance to win a $50.00 gift card from a participating Miami restaurant. Ninety PayByPhone customers were randomly selected over the five-week campaign.

Los Angeles World Airports announced the successful demolition of a pedestrian bridge linking Parking Structure 3 to Terminal 3 within the Los Angeles International (LAX) Airport Central Terminal Area (CTA). Although the demolition of this pedestrian bridge was not originally planned to occur until late next year, the reduced traffic volume within the CTA due to the COVID-19 pandemic presented an opportunity to complete the work early with minimal disruption to airport guests.

Centerpark, a New York City-based parking management and real estate investment firm, this week announced its closing of a $40 million acquisition of three parking properties in Manhattan. The acquired properties are strategically located at 159 West 53rd Street, 212 East 47th Street, and 455 Central Park West. Focused on repositioning parking properties in gateway cities, the company’s purchase encompasses a total of 82,000 square feet and 475 parking spaces in Manhattan’s coveted Midtown and Upper West Side neighborhoods.
