Klaus Gindl

We mourn the loss of Mr. Klaus Gindl, who died on May 9, 2020 at the age of 76 after a short battle with cancer.

Mr. Gindl founded the company Wimmersberger & Gindl in Munich, Germany, in 1970, as the local representative for the sales and services of parking garage systems from Scheidt & Bachmann in Bavaria. Klaus Gindl GmbH later emerged from this company. Through his skills and ability, he successfully expanded the company over the years. From 2000 onwards, Mr. Gindl had overall responsibility for the German and Austrian market for parking and leisure facilities at Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH.

Later, as a representative of Scheidt & Bachmann, networker, salesman and strategist who was in love with detail, Mr. Gindl, passionately built up the international business development and successfully founded the foreign subsidiaries in England, France and the U.S.A.

In over 30 years with the company, he did great work for the Scheidt & Bachmann Group.

With his well-thought guidelines for processes and structures, he had a lasting impact on Klaus Gindl GmbH and laid the foundation for the successful company history of today’s Scheidt & Bachmann Parking Solutions Germany GmbH. With more than 200 employees, the company is one of the largest solution providers for innovative, digital and technologically sophisticated parking garage/parking lot handling systems from Scheidt & Bachmann in Germany. As of 2020, the company has been successfully established for 50 years.

With Klaus Gindl, we and the entire industry are losing a loyal friend who was closely connected to many colleagues, customers and industry experts until the very end. Klaus Gindl lived the “parking industry family” with great enthusiasm and transferred his spirit to everyone with joy.

Until the very end, Klaus Gindl repeatedly asked about the situation of the company, its employees and the current industry developments. He was always on the cutting edge.

We will honor his memory.

Our thoughts are with his family.

From JVH: Klaus was a dear friend. He always had a smile and a funny story to tell. He was instrumental in bringing Greg Parzych to S&B and supported him through the early days in launching the company in the U.S.

Klaus believed in building bridges, never burning them. His relationship with his competitors was of the highest caliber. He believed in hard work, but also in having fun. There was always something unique about the booths he promoted at Intertraffic, be it the highest of technology, or a classic car driven by beautiful models. His parties held during Octoberfest in Munich were legendary.

Klaus Gindl always had a kind word to say about everyone.

“I had the privilege of really getting to know Klaus Gindl in 2000 when his son, Thomas, worked as a parking technician intern for Associated Time here in Dallas. That friendship and mentorship continued up until his death. Klaus was a man of true integrity and generosity, while still possessing an acute business acumen. His knowledge and love for the parking industry worldwide made him a true legend and asset to our profession.” Christopher Archer, President – Associated Time Instruments.
