Dear Parking Today:
Regarding the story “San Francisco Mandates Revenue Control Among Operators” (PT, January 2002), I find it rather interesting how some employees will explain the “difference” in revenue to their managers/ supervisors. In turn, we also have dirty managers/ operators that will need to explain the increases to the city and/or their owners.
I don’t know if the $25 million to $50 million estimated increase is true but can you imagine how the rest of the U.S. and world will view the outcome if it’s even close. This could change the view of parking tax revenue worldwide.
I’m really interested if San Francisco will question past parking tax revenue documents from operators that suddenly have a surge in business revenue.
Just a little food for thought.
