Octon Named President of Parkeon U.S.

Parkeon Inc. has promoted Christopher Octon to President of its U.S. operations. Most recently Vice President of Sales and Marketing, he has been with the company for 15 years.
Octon has “a strong background in transit activities,” the company said, “and he takes over an organization that recently combined its parking and transit operations, enabling Parkeon to provide and implement systems to improve global urban mobility.”
He came to the U.S. market late last year, after leading a successful team covering regions such as the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, The Middle East, Scandinavia and India.
Octon has played a key part in many global projects, including the Prestige project in London, delivering the transport system serving 90 stations and 8,000 buses. In the US, he worked with New Jersey Transit to deliver its on-board fare collection equipment, and is working with New York City Transit to ensure satisfaction of its 100 Strada paystations.
Said Stephane Roques, Parkeon’s Global Sales and Marketing Director: “Chris has the background and skills to lead our team as it faces a market looking for more advanced features in its parking and transit systems.”
Roques added: “In the U.S., we sold 4,000 paystations in 2011 and 4,500 so far in 2012 [January through April], so we are solidified as the market leader today. Our main focus is to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and proximity in order to reinforce our top position.”
