Parking solutions provider Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH has announced its partnership with Derek Kiley, who will support the team with analyzing customer demand and implementing market strategies. He also will work closely within the organization to fulfill operators’ and other decision-makers’ demands by supporting all aspects of the development of S&B’s digital strategy. In this new role, Kiley will focus on client relations and business development. 

Mark Phillips has joined Sentry Control Systems as Vice President, Texas Region. In his new position, the long-time parking technology professional will oversee business development and customer service in Houston, Austin and San Antonio. With more than 20 years of experience, Phillips is “extremely knowledgeable about the parking technology challenges facing owners and operators,” said Michael Flanagan, EVP of Sales and Business Development for Sentry, a subsidiary of Skidata.

 

One of South Korea’s leading hospitals, the Samsung Medical Center in Seoul required an advanced hands-free door access and security solution to monitor who gets access when and where. With uPASS Access UHF RFID readers from Nedap installed, people have convenient access, while the hospital complex has an overview of all movements. required vehicle access controls for its luxury community and residential areas. Nedap business partner Secure Services Ltd. WWL implemented a complete access control system, including Transit readers, to secure vehicle access to this exclusive community.

West Palm Beach-based One Parking, a national parking operations management firm, has added six new locations to the list of clients using its proprietary OPark system. The high-tech, 24/7, unstaffed, remote-monitoring, parking control system was launched earlier this year. The new locations are The Franklin, a 60-story, Class-A office building in Chicago; four other garages in Washington, DC; and one in Denver.

McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas has installed AIMS parking management software by EDC Corp. for its parking operations. Citation issuance, customer permit sales, parking violation notices and payments are all handled by airport staff. The AIMS Mobile enforcement app interacts in real-time with the AIMS database, so “flex fine” amounts are applied to citations based on the number of previous times a plate has been issued a ticket. These aggregate fine amounts are designed to hit chronic violators with excessive fines at the time of issuance, so they are more apt to follow proper procedures while on airport property.

WGI has announced that Jacob Gonzalez, PE, has joined the company’s Carl Walker Division as Vice President-Parking Solutions. He will remain in Houston, leveraging contacts and experience accumulated during an almost 20-year career, which included 18 years at a national consulting firm, where he grew from an engineer and parking consultant to leader of its Prime PM team and ultimately Director of Parking.

NSL Ltd., the UK’s leading provider of civil enforcement and specialist support services, has been awarded Platinum accreditation by London-based Investors in People, an internationally recognized standard. The accolade “reflects the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest possible performance through the quality of its people management.” With 4,000 employees in 250 UK locations, NSL is part of Marston Holdings and specializes in the delivery and management of frontline, back office and customer support services.

Nova Scotia-based Frontier Technologies has signed a contract with Amano McGann Canada to become an official dealer and service provider of the company’s parking and security solutions. It will provide services to the eastern coast of Canada. “We are thrilled to partner with a company with such breadth of knowledge and experience,” said Murray Arkinstall, VP of Amano McGann’s Canada operations.

iPayment Inc., a provider of payment and processing solutions, has hired industry veteran John Badovinac. As Vice President, Integrated Payments, he will be responsible for all activities in and around that sector, including the management, development and evolution of the company’s payment gateway, Expinet, as well as new business development and relationship management for all integrated partners.

HTS Ltd., a leader in license plate recognition solutions, is collaborating with Designa Access Corp. to deliver a complete LPR solution for the four airports (including LaGuardia, JFK and Newark) owned by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. “We are very proud to join forces with Designa’s team,” said Sagy Amit, HTS Director of Sales. “HTS has a reputation for supporting a project from A to Z,” said Paul McIlvride, Designa VP of Major Projects. “We have a partner we can trust to make both of us look good when we get to the finish line.”

Parking technology firm Frogparking has appointed two new senior sales executives to lead its ongoing expansion into the U.S. off the back of a multimillion-dollar investment. The New Zealand-based firm, a pioneer of cloud-based parking management solutions, has recruited Grant Johnson, a senior sales consultant in the parking industry for more than 20 years, and Shaun Donaghey, who has led a number of technology companies expanding their operations in the U.S. Managing Director Shareena Sandbrook said the firm is building on its successes in the U.S., aggressively boosting its research and development capacity and its international sales and marketing presence in the country.

The City of Santa Cruz, CA, has selected Amano McGann to replace its parking access and revenue control system (PARCS). The project consists of 18 lanes, with installation scheduled to begin this fall. The company’s OPUSeries entry terminals, exit terminals, pay-on-foot stations and point-of-sale terminals will be installed at four parking facilities that accommodate more than 1,600 vehicles. The city wanted a scalable PARCS solution that can grow as its parking operations develop over time. The project includes implementation of the company’s parking management software iParcProfessional and its web-based validation solution eParcSuite.

Towne Park has announced a new partnership with Yale New Haven Hospital, a nationally recognized academic medical center, to begin offering Towne Health services. The partnership marks the 12th new client this year for the company’s non-clinical healthcare business, which it operates at more than 300 healthcare locations in 40 states. Under the agreement, it will provide the center with valet, self-parking, cashier and lot monitor services.

 

Walker Parking Consultants has opened a new office in Dallas. While the physical location, Renaissance Tower in downtown Dallas, is new, Walker has worked with dozens of Dallas and Fort Worth clients through the years. The company has completed projects for Love Field, the Fort Worth Cultural District, Nebraska Furniture Mart and TCU, among many others. “We’re expanding into Dallas, because we see tremendous opportunities to grow our North Texas business,” said Casey Wagner, PE, Walker CEO and Executive Vice President. “Clients in the DFW area know us predominantly for parking design and consulting services. [Our] other division, Walker Restoration Consultants, will also serve clients from the Dallas office. … We think there’s a market here for our building science and forensic investigation services, as well as parking design and consulting.”
