TKH Security is collaborating with ASM Lithography, commonly referred to as ASML, to install a comprehensive parking management solution at the company’s facility in San Diego, California. Through this project, TKH Security’s Park Assist Solution, an automated parking guidance system, will provide parking guidance for a 5-floor parking structure housing 502 spaces. The project is expected to reach completion by the second quarter of 2025.

KLAUS Multiparking America Inc., a subsidiary of the global provider of automated and mechanical parking solutions KLAUS Multiparking GmbH, announced the launch of its  kVario 8000 Series Semi-Automatic Puzzle Parking System. Designed to redefine parking efficiency and versatility, the kVario 8000 Series has a scalable design that accommodates up to 5 parking levels, both above and below ground, and maximizes parking capacity for residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.

Parking Concepts Inc. (PCI) announced the promotion of Nima Rajabali to director, Breeze. In his new role, Rajabali will oversee the continued development and expansion of PCI’s technology suite, Breeze, which uses advanced automation and seamless integrations to improve parking operations and enhance customer experiences.

The mobile parking payments company PayByPhone has planted 6,528 trees with reforestation projects in Kenya, in the name of its partnering North American clients. The trees are being planted following the success of the company’s annual Green December initiative, where one tree was planted for every 50 parking transactions completed during December in participating locations across California, Kentucky, and Massachusetts.

Parking software provider Unity5 announced that David Herbert has decided to step down from his current role as chief executive officer (CEO) at the end of the financial year, March 31, 2025. Mark Wilson, currently serving as chief commercial officer, will assume the role of CEO, taking over the day-to-day operations. Herbert, who co-founded Unity5 with Lukasz Kieruczenko, will remain actively involved in the company as vice chairman and acting chief technology officer.

Modii, a provider of digital parking and mobility solutions, partnered with the Town of West Hartford, Connecticut, to digitize the city’s parking assets to simplify parking guidance for drivers and optimize operations and management for city administrators. As part of the West Hartford (WeHa) parking project, Modii introduced the WeHa Parking Finder, a tool designed to guide users to the most convenient parking locations. Drivers can view parking options based on their destination, access pricing details, pay for parking, and more.

ParkHelp Technologies, a provider of smart parking guidance and management solutions, announced the appointment of Devon Graham as senior project manager. Before joining ParkHelp, Graham served as regional service manager for WorkSmart and as a project manager for SKIDATA, overseeing the installation of parking access and revenue control systems (PARCS) technology.

EnforcePlus, a provider of parking enforcement and management solutions, announced the appointment of Rebecca Groth as national sales manager. Groth has more than a decade of leadership in the parking technology industry, including senior roles at ParkMobile and OmniPark (Flash).

Parking Base, a provider of customized cloud-based parking management solutions, announced that it has been selected by the City of Manitou Springs, Colorado, to provide comprehensive digital parking management for municipal parking spaces. The Manitou Springs digital parking management program will utilize Parking Base’s Permit Manager platform to enhance the parking experience for residents, while improving parking operations. 

The City of Jefferson City, Missouri, has expanded its partnership with Passport — a provider of unified parking and curb management solutions — to include digital permitting along with its use of the company’s compliance platform to power and manage parking enforcement and mobile pay parking. Jefferson City now can manage the full permitting lifecycle digitally to eliminate physical permits and manual processes, while permit holders can securely apply for, manage, and purchase permits through an online portal. By also powering its parking enforcement operations with the same platform, Jefferson City can collect real-time data and issue warnings and tickets more effectively.

Passport also announced a partnership with the City of Wilmington, Delaware, in which the city is using Passport’s digital parking permit and enforcement solutions. As of November 18th, 2024, the city is streamlining permit management for more than 8,950 active permits, driving higher parking compliance rates, creating a better user experience, and providing better access to insights and data.  

The Dublin Airport Car Park will re-open to customers on March 10, 2025. Operating under the “Park2Travel” branding, the 6,100+ space facility will be managed by the European parking company APCOA. The newly re-opened site will provide travelers with an additional 42 acres of parking just 1.5 km from the airport terminal and connected by frequent shuttle buses at no additional charge.

Flowbird, a provider of curbside and off-street mobility solutions, announced its collaboration with parking and transportation solutions provider RISETEK Global to deploy its PARCS technology at the Ridge Hill shopping center in Yonkers, New York. To enhance the customer experience and streamline parking operations, Flowbird has integrated 15 of its “Flowbird GO” Off-Street devices, along with RISETEK’s license plate recognition (LPR) cameras across the center’s 3 parking facilities.

Convergentz, a master systems integrator specializing in building technologies, announced its partnership with the parking management solutions provider Frogparking. Through this collaboration, Convergentz will become a reseller of Frogparking technology in the U.S. market.

Frogparking also announced the installation of a new parking lot monitoring system at Frankston Station in Melbourne, Australia. The monitoring system, which includes two car counters, a DC gateway, a solar-powered gateway, and a K2 real-time availability sign, will provide real-time parking availability information.

The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT), in collaboration with the City of Sacramento, California, launched this past December a new Bus Stop Enforcement Program to improve safety, accessibility, and reliability for transit riders and bus operators. The program enforces parking regulations at bus stops throughout the city, ensuring that buses have unobstructed access to curbs and passengers can safely board and exit buses at designated stops. Up to 100 SacRT buses will be equipped with front-facing cameras powered by AI from Hayden AI. These cameras will detect and record instances of unauthorized parking at bus stops. Following a 60-day grace enforcement period, the program will begin issuing citations with fines.

European parking infrastructure owner and operator Q-Park B.V. announced that the investment holding company Pontegadea Inversiones, S.L. has acquired a 20% stake in the company from existing shareholders, including the global investment firm KKR. Concurrently, the foundation-owned investment group Interogo Holding AG, through its infrastructure investment fund Inter Infrastructure Capital, has increased its stake from 12.25%, acquired in August 2024, to 18%. KKR remains the controlling shareholder.

ChargePoint, a provider of networked charging solutions for electric vehicles (EVs), and automaker General Motors (GM) announced plans to further accelerate EV infrastructure growth in the U.S. The companies are joining efforts to install hundreds of ultra-fast charging ports at strategic locations across the U.S., featuring the latest innovations in EV charging to improve access to chargers and help drivers get back on the road faster than ever. ChargePoint and GM intend for the locations to be opened and available to the public before the end of 2025. Through the collaboration, ChargePoint and GM are accelerating the deployment of DC fast charging across the U.S. through an incentive program designed to make it easier for third-party charge point operators to own and operate EV charging infrastructure. The companies aim to open these new charging stations rapidly, with the locations deployed by the end of 2025.

The New York State Parking and Transportation Association (NYSPTA) announced that Kevin C. Wood, the president of Parking and Mobility Consultants, Inc., has been elected president of the association. His two-year term began on January 1, 2025.

Caryn Walline accepted the position of director of parking operations at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Transportation Services, a part of the Division of Facilities Planning and Management. In her most recent role as deputy director of communications and public engagement with the Seattle Department of Transportation, Walline led a public engagement campaign to promote citywide initiatives, including the department’s climate and safety response and light rail expansion. She also served as the interim director of transportation services at the University of Washington, where she oversaw a wide range of parking management and operations. Walline succeeds Tanara Teal-Tate, who left UW-Madison in February 2024.

HUB Parking Technology, a brand of the mobility and parking solutions provider FAAC Technologies, introduced the Control Electronics System on Module (CESM) board upgrade for its parking barrier models Magnetic Pro and Pro-M. The CESM board eliminates the need for additional civil work to install a lane controller or additional parking lane peripherals. This integration allows the installation of a standalone barrier in narrow parking lanes, whether they are entry, exit, or section lanes (nested areas) within a parking facility with design constraints.
