In the same article about parking fees in Calgary, there was a note about a fellow who visits customers downtown and pays about $500 a month in visitor parking fees. Can this be true? Well let’s see.
What if the rates were $2 every 15 minutes and maxed at $10. So if a person stayed an hour and one minute what would the fee be? == Come on, get those Cray computers out and lets move on. Right — $8.
So if this person visited three customers a day and spent an hour at each one, it would be $24 a day or $504 based on a 21 working day month. But it comes in drips and drabs so a person may not notice. However the one who pays your expenses might.
The solution for the fellow in the article — move his office out to the burbs (to get out of the $375 a month contract parking fees) and then figure out a way to cut down on his calls in the city. (Has anyone every heard of the telephone, email, web links, or even the good old postal service.)
No, wait, lets not get hasty – We are in the parking business. We love for you to come downtown and move your car three or four times a day. Right!
