Frequent readers know that I believe that free parking makes the parking issues in an area worse, not better. The article explains this in detail. In Providence, (RI?) they provide “free” parking during the holidays. The merchants are now complaining that their customers have no place to park. Seems the government workers in the area are parking on street and taking the spaces all day. Well, DUH.
What the hell did they expect to happen? It feels so good to be proven correct. (It happens so seldom.)
