Got a note from Ian Betts in the UK. He runs a parking consultancy there and a web site that helps folks find available parking. He also has generated some statistics from his site that are interesting. The site is www.carparks4u.com
Its neat – take a look.
Ian has determined that people looking for parking facilities want to park for free (no surprise there) but that very few require other facilities in the parking decks or lots (like toilets). He also found that most people who use his service wanted a "long stay" facility. That is, they wanted a place to park their car over a long period, not just for an event. That makes sense, too. If I’m going to the movies I will assume I can find parking. However if I have just rented an apartment and need a long term parking space, I might want to search out all my options before I sign the contract.
If you want to know more about Ian or see what he looks like ( frankly I think he looks like he stepped out of central casting — a very good looking Brit …) his web site is here.
