Blogging from Indy

Drove down from Chicago to Indianapolis and checked out a great revenue control system Denison parking had installed in three of its garages.  All are connected over the ‘net, but the neat feature is that when a person is calling for assistance, either from the POF or at the exit lane, they can see the customer service rep on a screen located on the POF or exit verifier.

Denison Prez Mark Pratt was very proud of the system and is expecting to install more in location outside the state and have them monitored from the current location.  Great stuff.  See August PT for details and great pix

By the way, the corn is as high as an elephant’s eye in Indiana.

  1. HELLO JOHN
I HAVE BEEN OUT OF THE COUNTRY. BUT I HAVE BEEN INFORMED ABOUT THE SO CALLED ROBOTIC DEBACLE, ONCE AGAIN, WHEN I RETURNED
I REALLY WANTED TO GO TO YOUR MEETING IN CHICAGO BUT BEING 4000 MILES IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION MADE THAT IMPOLSSIBLE
BUT ROBOTICS IS STILL THE MISSING LINK HERE IN WONDERFUL HOBOKEN
I REALLY WISH YOU WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE TIME OUT TO VISIT THE FACILITY AT 916
THEN YOU COULD HAVE, WOULD HAVE MADE UP YOUR OWN MIND ABOUT THIS DISASTER THAT IS STILL A DISASTER. READING A STORY WRITTEN BY A GOOD REPORTER DOES NT TELL THE ENTIRE STORY. I THOUGHT THAT I WAS THROUGH WITH HAAG AND HIS CRONIES. BUT HE KEEPS REARING HIS HEAD. HE HAS NINE LIVES, LIKE A CAT.
BUT THEN HE AS BEEN A SPIN MEISTER FROM DAY ONE
WHAT IS AMAZING IS THAT HE GETS AWAY WITH IT
YES, TECHNOLOGY HAS GLITCHES. BUT SHOULD THOSE GLITCHES RESULT IN CARS FALLING OFF THE CARRIERS, THREE TIMES
YES SYSTEMS BREAK DOWN. BUT SHOULD IT BE NECESSARY TO FLY IN THEIR SO CALLED TOP TECHNICIAN TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM. AND THE SYSTEM WAS DOWN FOR OVER 20 HOURS, NOT 15 MINUTES. AND THIS WAS/IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT
YES THE CITY AND ROBOTICS REACHED AN AGREEMENT. THERE ARE 300 CARS OFF THE STREET IN HOBOKEN. AND IF HOBOKEN HAD GREAT PARKING THEN THE FACILITY WOULD HAVE REMAINED CLOSED. THERE ARE NUMEROUS INCIDENTS, BREAKDOWNS, THAT YOU ARE NOT BEING TOLD ABOUT.
WHAT YOU ARE NOT TOLD IS THAT THE CITY WAS PAYING ROBOTICS TO MANAGE THE GARAGE. ONE THAT WAS A DISGRACE. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY ABOUT FLAMMABLE MATERIALS BEING STORED IN THE FACILITY, UNDER THE CAR RACKS. FURNITURE AND CLOTHES ON A PALLET. PALLETS THT ARE IN HORRIBLE CONDITION, PAINT PEELING, RUSTED AND MORE. HOW ABOUT WIRES LAYING ON THE GROUND AND COVERED WITH A CARDBOARD BOX
I COULD GO ON AND ON BUT IS IT REALLY WORTH IT
ASK THIS ONE FINAL QUESTION. HOW COME IN ALL OF HOBOKEN WHERE BUILDINGS ARE GOING UP ALL THE TIME, WITH PARKING. NOT ONE
FACILITY IS AUTOMATED. TAKE A TRIP AND YOU TALK TO THE PEOPLE YOU KNOW ON A FIRST NAME BASIS. BETTER YET YOU MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND AFTER YOU ARE GIVEN THE REAL FACTS. NOT THE STORY FROM THE “””AUTOMATED””” SIDE OF THE LEDGER
