Parking Blog may be a bit erratic this week as I’m writing this from my room at a B and B in Chelsea, London, UK. I normally stay here because its more homey than a hotel and half the price. Note: Its a 17th Century house that has five bedrooms and the hostess, Maritta, cooks a great breakfast, anything you want. Its a super place. If any of you are going to the UK and want a referral, contact me direct.
Our Trade Show specialist Dawn Newman is staying at a nearby hotel and has spent the day "doing" Bath and Stonehenge. Tomorrow morning we take the train to the Traffex show at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. It about `100 miles north of London.
This is a huge parking and traffic show, with over 300 booths and an expected crowd of 5000 people. It is being put on jointly by the Traffex folks here in the UK and the group that puts on Parkex every year. What a fabulous event.
Gee, two organizations get together and put on a show. Where have I heard that before.
It will be a precursor to the Intertraffic/PIE/ARTBA show in Baltimore in September where the large exhibition specialists, the RAI out of the Netherlands is joining forces with us and our Parking Industry Exhibition and the American Road and Transportation Builders association to put on a "cross industry" Parking and Traffic event.
Got to run — will blog tomorrow from the show.
