I just love North by Northwest. I was able to see it again as I flew to Sydney last night. Delta has a direct flight from LA and tries to east the 14 hours of pain with a really great entertainment program. Hundreds of movies like this Hitchcock classic.
Do you know that Hitchcock has a live cameo in most of his films? In the first scene, he is seen just missing a bus in Manhattan.
Parking? OK – Cary Grant is trying to explain to Eva Marie Saint why every cop in North America is looking for him. “I have seven parking tickets.”
Cary is wonderful – I told this story at dinner last night and every woman at the table had a little “flutter.”
