New technology has made it possible for the state of Colorado to cross reference DMV data and tax data so it can collect on unpaid parking tickets. The state is currently owed $721 million in outstanding debt.
Now that’s what I’m talking about. It’s not about the money, in my opinion, it’s about a state that is smart enough and organized enough to use computers, those magical boxes, to enforce its parking policy. This is just good business. I don’t want it to happen to me, but I’ll just keep on parking legally and it won’t be a problem.
