Jim Kopency, former parking director for the city of Hartford and also for the city of Wilmington, worked with investigators last year as they were building a case against Mayor Eddie Perez. At one point he word a “wire” when having discussions with a lawyer for the city. Read all about it here

The Mayor is allegedly involved with some shady characters in Hartford with sweetheart deals being cut between them and the city on parking lot leases. Kopency and his parking authority was at odds with the mayor over these leases. Kopency felt they should have been handled by the authority. According to the article, parking lots were “political currency” in Hartford for decades.
