Parking enforcement is strict in Chicago. Here’s an article that tells of vehicles being ticketed even though the meters were installed after the cars were parked.
It all boils down to an overly agressive very new enforcement officer, some meters that were removed for construction and then replaced, and some very upset drivers. The crowning glory was the fact that a number of the tickets were dated hours in the future.
The tickets were all voided by the city — "All’s well that ends well."
