High Tech Parking in the News

You might have missed it, but I don’t see how. Automatic resettable meters in Pacific Grove, Pay by cell phone in Coral Gables, GPS ticketing in wherever — its all in an article run by the AP and picked up by newspapers and TV stations worldwide. You can read the article here.

Wow, the parking industry is finally getting some notice. And maybe, just maybe, yours truly might have had something to do with it.

I got a call about a month ago from some reporter at the AP. They wanted to know about payment by cell phone. So I told them, and also about the other high tech stuff that’s happening. I referred them to Coral Gables, Sacramento, and Pacific Grove, and I think Seattle and a few other cities. Of course, as usual, my pithy quotes ended up on the editor’s spike.

Newspapers never like to quote other media. Makes em seem lazy.
