BWI is offering discounts on parking. As far as I know,this is a first for an airport to discount their parking operation.According to my quick survey, the airport is above off airport locations — averaging up to three times as much. This will bring them a little closer to the off airport costs. Read about it here.
There you go, the good old free market at work. Downward pressure on pricing when supply outstrips demand. Phoenix, where they fill their garages regularly, would never think of this solution, but my guess is that BWI, with its brand new garage just open within the last year, has the opposite problem.
