Lost Ticket in an Automated Garage

We were musing here in Parking Blog about what would happen if, in an automated garage, like the one at Hoboken, a daily parker who had never been there before lost their ticket. How would one find the car?

I asked Walker Parking’s automation expert, Don Monahan, the same question at a seminar a few weeks ago and he got back to me today.

Regarding a lost ticket in an
automated garage, I believe the system could easily find the car if a picture
was intially taken of the license plate and the license plate number read and
recorded with the transaction.

An elegant solution — certainly LPR would work absolutely in a closed environment like one of these garages and the interface with the system’s equipment should be relatively painless.
