I’m pushing the envelope a bit here, but the Las Vegas City Council is supposed to vote tomorrow (Wednesday) to approve $220,000 to buy a bunch of Reino Pay by Space machines. The antique media (AP) says its true — read about it here.
Of course the headline touts the machines’ ability to take credit cards, and the Pay by Space part is buried elsewhere but who would expect different from the antiques. My guess is that the credit card portion of the system will be readily accepted by the local citizens. Hell you can buy gas, groceries, and use an ATM, why not a pay by space (or bay, and the Aussies like to call it) The "getting used to part" will be the pay by space.
I hope the city is going to have a lot of publicity on the project and train their folks well. I’m sure my friends at Reino will have all the help they need, if they elect to use it.
