I had lunch the other day with Grant Furlane, the CEO of Modern Access in Toronto. Grant is a wonderful bigger than life character and spends much of the conversation talking about his first love, hockey. His son is expected to attend college on a hockey scholarship and concerning the “pros,” Grant is optimistic. He was also in LA looking for a place to live so he can be close to supervising his newest project, the opening of a US headquarters here in California.
I quote from their news release:
“It is a natural progression in Modern’s Growth Strategy to support its 100-plus dealer network in the USA. We chose the Southern California Market so that we are positioned in the West Coast and support our L.A. dealer Parking Technical Services Inc., which presently is fulfilling a multi-million dollar Contract with Jamison Properties to Automate 40-plus facilities with Modern Systems.”
Both Grant and I were trying to remember when we had last met, but the more I think about it, it’s possible that only our reputations met, and we never did.
