The citation writers in Scotland are planning to go out on strike. They are looking for a pay raise. They actually work for National Car Park, the contractor providing enforcement services They are being offered about $24,000 a year to start, they are asking for $28,000 with built in increases up to $32,000. I have no clue whether any of this is fair or not, but I wonder a bit at the wisdom of the strike. Do they honestly feel that the motoring public will jump on board when the very people that are passing out citations right and left are proposing to stop doing so?
As one correspondent in the "Scotsman," Edinburgh’s newspaper pointed out,,,
Motorists will be rioting in the streets if this strike goes ahead. Well, maybe not!
