Northwest Parking Association

We have a new arrival on the scene of regional parking associations, the Northwest Parking Association. I had heard rumblings from Steve Long at Ampco System in Seattle that such a group was in the works, but its nice to see they have made the leap. Diana Perey at U of Washington dropped me a note and refereed the web site. It web site is here.  I am researching the members and will keep you posted on the group’s progress.

They cover the states of Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Alaska, Hawaii, and the Canadian province of British Columbia. It looks to me like the group has a good start — Their bylaws state that virtually anyone in the parking business can be a member, one member from each organization or company. Vendors and consultants are in a slightly different category however they can sit on the board (2 out of nine) and can be elected to any office.  This is a good thing.  Inclusion is what this industry needs.

All the best folks. Keep me posted
