The Road and Transportation Department of Dubai is turning off parking charges for the Ed Al Fatr holidays this week. It will be interesting to see the result.
I am speaking in November just up the road in Abu Dhabi and hopefully some of the Dubai folks will be there and I can ask them about their "gift" to the community.
My guess is that this will cause chaos in the city, there will be a dirth of parking spaces, and next year people will be demanding that charges be kept in place.
We shall see.
